Was listening to talkSport last night and he was giving an exclusive interview, talking about his managerial career.

In the past I saw him as a Kevin Blackwell mould, enjoyed limited success but arrogant beyond his station because of it. But last night he came across as humble, passionate to get back into football management and he also has had success where he has ever been even if his loyalty is lacking.

Would he be worth a shout? I sincerely hope the silence from the Board at this moment is because they are working hard behind the scenes to source a successor to DW.

Better than Pearce thats been mentioned on here.

I'm not sure. Is Darren's Gran (RIP) still available?

Looking at the stats on Wikipedia he's actually failed everywhere except Sligo, Cheltenham and 4 months at Notts County:-

I think we can do better. Like Steve Evans (Rotherham) or Paul Cox (Mansfield) for instance...

My deceased gran is currently weighing up the Wednesday job as the word on the celestial grapevine is that Jones will be out soon.

We will have to push the boat out to match what Wednesday offer her....

why did,nt we have a punt on steve evans ? could it be he would have upset somewhere along the line, reminds me of when cloughie was by far the best man for the england job ! and we all know what happened then........down hill all the way since:(

The inside word last week was that Tony Pulis was being favoured, but that would perhaps fly in the face of what the Club are trying to do in regards to the style of play they want and in regards to trying to promote the Academy as the heart of the club. Its no secret that Pulis had no interest in any young players coming through at Stoke.

Young Cloughie is now being linked with the job, and he would sit with the mantra that the club want, much more comfortably than Pulis.

Before I'm shot down in flames, I'm not saying if either would be a good appointment. I don't have to make that decision, but those are the whispers in the corridors of power.

His win % at Stoke, being only 400% better than Weir's, looks atrocious.

:(

Steve Cotterill, who is currently manager of Shrewsbury Town, has been readmitted to hospital with Covid-19 pneumonia. Hope he manages to pull through.
