I've spoken to him a few times over the last few weeks as he takes his lad to the same football training sessions as mine on Saturday mornings.

I asked him what was next in his career (this was about a week before the end of the season) and he said he doesn't expect to be at Reading in 18/19. He's still recovering from a long term knee injury and his next move, if there is one, depends on that.

He did say there's no plan to go back to Ireland though as he and his family are settled in Sheffield.

He's still very good friends with Del Geary so wouldn't be surprised if he does take up a temporary coaching position with our u23s or u18s

Considering the number of times i've seen Del-boy in the Costa next to the Hillsborough tramstop wearing full Blades gear, i suspect he still lives locally, at least part of the time!

I commute weekly, if I'm paid enough, I'd do it daily .

He might have a place here that he comes back to during the off season then.
