Sheffield United are giving Stefan Postma the chance to show he can fill Paddy Kenny's gloves.

The Dutch keeper returned home after a stint with Wolves, but could be offered a deal if he impresses while on trial.

The Blades are still waiting on a date for Kenny's drugs case, with boss Kevin Blackwell looking for alternatives if he is banned.

De doelman is momenteel transfervrij en trainde de voorbije weken mee met AGOVV Apeldoorn. Zijn laatste club was het Cypriotische Ermis Aradippou.

Postma, die eerder in zijn loopbaan al eens in Engeland keepte, zal bij een succesvolle proefperiode waarschijnlijk meteen voor de leeuwen worden gegooid bij Sheffield United. He signed a 2-year contract for Dutch 2nd division team AGOVV, a team that plays in Apeldoorn (the city where a madman killed some people at our Queens Day april 30th).
Funny thing about it is that AGOVV stands for Apeldoonse Geheel Onthouders (Teetotalers) Voetbal Vereniging (Football Club). In other words, a club founded just for people that don 't drink alcohol and don't smoke.
It's strange that alot of Dutch footballteams are named like NAC Breda, NEC Nijmegen, RKC Waalwijk etcetc. NAC means NOAD Advendo Combination, two teams came together and the result is NAC. Nijmegen Eendracht Combination, same story.....

I love alot of things about Holland.

I think the Dutch are quite like the English in many ways! Every Dutch person ive ever met has been crazy though!
