As part of my fundraising efforts for Parkinson's UK - a cause very close to my heart which S2 members generously helped with when I auctioned off a signed Blades shirt last season - Richard Stearman has kindly donated a signed shirt which I'll be raffling off this time, to give more fans a chance to win.

So, I'm inviting donations of £5 to Parkinson's UK at this link https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/stears-shirt and I'll pick a donator to receive the shirt (which has been washed!)

Special thanks to Stears and Foxy feels this breaks any rules, feel free to delete. But it's a fantastic charity, funding research into a cause close to my family's hearts. A £10 donation pays for 2 weeks of nutrients to grow brain cells in the lab for research and £20 funds an hour of care from a specialist Parkinson's nurse, ensuring no-one has to face this battle alone.

Thanks for reading. UTB

I will donate but I'm not holding out much hope of being chosen...... :(

Good luck with it Danny, good cause.

Unless your real name is Sean Thornton (and what idiot doesn't hide their real name on forums these days!) then I'll never know it's you! But you wouldn't be precluded anyway, mate. Thanks for the support.

Cracking post Danny...I know you take a lot of flack on here due to your employer, but good on you for using your journalistic links to do something like this. I'm midway through moving house, and unfortunately I don't even have a spare fiver, but fingers crossed you raise a lot of money.

I’ll add your fiver to mine, mate. Pay me back when you’ve sold Stears’ shirt.. :)

If I win it we’ll raffle it again as soon as he scores.

Met your Dad in Sheaf Island the other week. Great story about coming back from London on the team bus, and sitting in the back with Len & Ted.

Magic Days, and they’re Coming Back

Great stuff Danny, man after my own heart. My mum suffers with parkinsons so i know exactly how bad this disease can be, my money shall be with you tomorrow.

Keep up the good work, one day we'll beat this terrible disease.

Donation made. Good work Danny04 and Mr Stearman for doing this. We have a family member who was diagnosed at 40 and has suffered for 20 years now and it’s a horrible illness. Excellent to raise awareness.

Thank you and sorry to hear that :(

Just donated.

A great aunt suffered from Parkinsons and was in a home at Herdings. I remember taking my grandad up there to see her and he was in bits. He'd fought in WWII and seen all sorts, but to see his lovely intelligent sister unable to interact with him was hard work. You could see she was still bright on the inside but just unable to communicate properly.
