Starting XI

Looking at the OP’s posting history, this is all that he/she does - reveal team information before it’s announced. Whether it’s deliberately to disadvantage United or just wanting to look clever I don’t know, but I remember Wilder remarking once on it having happened and that it gave the opposition an advantage In a particular match.

We have so many walking wounded he might be able to guess our starting line up anyway.

I don't care whether the line up gets leaked or not--I quite like waiting until the hour before and getting the news from Twitter.

But.

I find it hard to credit the idea that leaking the line up on a forum gives any advantage to the opposition. That would assume 1) someone from Blackburn is monitoring this forum and 2) they believe that this information is accurate and 3) decide to tweak their own plans in response.

Does anyone find that plausible? I don't.

Aye but surely all he's given away that we didn't know is that both full backs start? I don't see how it weakens us.

Bloody hell, they're all at it!! 🤣🤣🤣

Nothing wrong with that. The fact that somebody’s there doesn’t mean they’re in the starting 11, and in any case it’s an observation which can easily be made by the opposition too.

The benefit is insider information on who’s in the starting 11, and clubs absolutely have people who check opposition forums etc for that kind of information. As for which information is accurate - a quick check of the poster’s history usually makes it clear whether they have actual inside information - as in this case.

Fairly sure that was Wilder deflecting the blame from another poor performance.
