How's this?
Using that system Manchester United would have:
- Gold star for a Major European Win (CL, Europa League, old Cup Winners Cup and Uefa Cups).
- Silver star per 5 League Titles
- Bronze star per 5 domestic cup wins
They have also won a Super Cup, Intercontinental Cup and World Club Cup which I haven't accounted for.
- Gold = 4 (3 CL & 1 CWC)
- Silver = 4 (20 titles)
- Bronze = 3 (11 FAC 4 LC)
AC Milan would have:
Real Madrid would have:
- Gold = 9
- Silver = 3
- Bronze = 1
Just to confirm SUFC would have:
- Gold = 12
- Silver = 6
- Bronze = 3
- Gold = 0
- Silver = 0
- Bronze = 0 (1 more cup win for a bronze)
Luckily we wont ever have to worry about itits a football shirt not a pair of kids swimming trunks.

should we win the Champions League then sure, otherwise it's pathetic.
Edit: Sorry Swiss - What he said.
Wouldn't it make more sense to display stars on a shirt worn specifically for each competition?
in the FA Cup, wear a shirt with stars only for FA cup wins, in the League stars for championships, etc...?
so we'd have 4 stars on our FA Cup shirts, 1 on our regular day-wear shirts...
(and given that MU etc are into double figures, apply the Gold/Silver/Bronze principle per competition shirt as you describe).
Absolutely not. Stars should only be for World Cups, and either league titles or major European honors...and that's at a push. If a club feel's they have to put a star on their kit to remind everyone they've won something then thats pretty sad...especially if its dating back to pre war!!
