It's a positive thing for Sheffield United for these players to go out and get some game time, for various reasons............

Consequently, The Star need to find a negative spin on it. Use of the word "admit" means our deluded feathered friends can reassure themselves on Porktalk that they are leaving against CW's wishes. I'm amazed they didn't use the phrase " mass exodus" or "fire sale".

Sheffield United: ‘Blades stars could leave on loan before weekend’ admits Lane chief Chris Wilder

Stars? Admits ? (despite it being common knowledge)

Said Chris Wilder nowhere in the article, despite the quotation marks.

Odd how it changes from stars to squad players between clicky bait headline and actual article.

It's obviously ridiculous but 'twas always thus.

The clickbait headline has replaced the advertising headline board outside a paper shop. You'd often read 'Blades Sign Prem Star' on the board to lure you into buying the paper for 30p - only to realise we had got someone like Jonathan Hunt on loan.

You just know the defence isn't ready to rest yet m'lud........

The Star is quite rightly criticised at times, but my word this thread is a bit OTT and cringe-worthy - all over some innocuous wording.

Every player that has ever played for any Sheffield team has always been referred to as a 'star'. Wilder has openly said players will leave on loan, and even name checked the ones mentioned in the article a few times. Is the the story really worth all the fuss?!

Ben Henehegan & Nathan Thomas, with a total of one appearance between them. Sheffield United Stars?

It's click bait. Not by the article writer, but by whoever put the headline with that story.

In modern football transfer parlance, "star" usually means "seventh-choice midfielder who isn't even making the bench".

If they're under 20 and 95% of Blades haven't even heard of them, they're a "starlet".

Anyway, GLTTL etc

Star? Every player? Okay.

And there is the other point. It's not even news as Wilder has referred to it several times.
