I like this photo of the new Kop....it shows the size and will look so impressive when full.
At it’s best a wall of sound....inspiring to our players but so intimidating to opposition players.

For a comparison of capacities
Uniteds Current Kop 10,221 (includes all the restricted and no view seats)
Wednesdaya current Kop 11,210
Liverpools Anfield Kop 12,390
Uniteds new Kop 13,400

I hate it the rake is to shallow and there is zero leg room, the view from the back will mean you need binoculars hope it gets a rethink. I'd love to see what the Prince would like to do not kevs's on the cheep plan to expand.

The cutlasses on the South Stand appear to have also had black seating added to them to add to the consistency with the Kop & BL end additions.

How sad that such a beautiful, historic place should be rendered utterly useless for probably the best part of a year.

Yes the games are still there, but they could just as well be on Handsworth Rec if no one's watching.

It will come back, played in many a great game on Handsworth rec.

heard a rumour that we may be taking on the woodbourn road stadium possibly next year, dont think its for anythng major but could be more for the academy side ( 5 a side pitches etc)

apparently talks were ongoing but covid has scuppered the timeline etc

Staring to fit new red seats in the kop corner?

In fact have the pink seats on the kop been replaced?

Didn’t realise it was January already and we’re able to do that

Clearly missing the point. We’ve been hit financially due to Covid (to the tune of £20/30 million) yet fans want us to spend money on improving the Kop. Which is great if you want a new Kop but a team in the Championship.

This video popped up on my YouTube page from over 3 years ago, posted by official SUFC. Seems a weird thing to post at the time and something that isn't really going to happen is it?

When we've been in lockdown with no gate receipts and now relegated with less revenues, then yes, tend to agree

I mean we didn't even mend the leaking roof at the training ground, so what's all this abart? ;)

Why would SUFC post that at this time. Doesn't make sense?

United haven't posted it, well they did 3 years ago, but it's just been regurgitated by the YouTube algorithm on BladeTillIDie 's account. Nothing to do with United, just based on internet browsing habits/ whether Google have been listening to your conversations etc

Bloody hell.
This is Sheffield United!
The board have only just stopped citing 'The New (South) Stand' as a reason why we can't spend money on the team.
Don't forget, we are the only club in the world to ever build new stands!!!

As we only sold out a handful of games in the PL, there's zero reason to commit to any capex on the stadium. Even though our game day offering is still at a league one level, there's just no ROI on it.

Based on us being back in the championship, I can't see anything changing anytime soon..

Some of my colleagues are "working" on the training ground, true that it did stall but it's starting to pick up a bit of steam again now.

If that is true then it looks like the plan Wilder kept banging on about is being stuck to.

Can you elaborate on what “work” they are doing?
Are they fixing a hole in a roof or are they building something new?

I think the issue is more to do with a lack of corporate facilities than additional capacity.

We pretty much sold out every match for corporates before a ball was even kick last season.

It would also only be fair to point out ticket sales were hampered by the restrictions put on them to try and ensure long standing fans got them over newbies. United dropped the ball a bit there and made it too restrictive so some went unsold as you could only get singles. I’ve no doubt with a 40,000 capacity we would have had 30,000 ST holders and an average 90% of available capacity that first season back purely based on sales we did get.
