One of the main arguments for keeping Clough seems to be stability. I'd say this season has been the least stable, in terms of the first team, that I've seen in a long time.

It's not a good enough reason, it's his quality as a manager and the achievements he's made as one that he should be judged upon and that means he's seriously lacking unfortunately.
Takes us from the bottom of league to FA Cup semi, League Cup semi and 5th place missing out on play off final by the odd goal!!!!
I see what you mean, he's achieved nothing, Clough Out!!!!!!!!
Utb!

But who needs stability right now. We need to get up! I'd take an unpopular manager for a season if it got us up automatically.

We don't need stability, we don't need progress, we need to WIN promotion. Then I'll take stability for a few years in the Champ.

Imo, we got stability the day the Prince came on board

Clough's job it to gain promotion

Failing to win promotion, or failing to win a cup, whichever one it may be is not deemed an achievement in my book

Personally, all that interests me is getting out of this division. We've been here way too long and Clough, despite having a full season, financial backing and 20 odd signings, has failed.

The club has achieved sweet fk all for coming fifth and getting knocked out the semis

He's had one full season thus far, i'm siding with those that say he deserves at least the start of next season. Judge at Xmas.

However, if the board to decide they want someone else to have a go, then thats fine with me.

So what have we gained and achieved then mate? I'm failing to see what it is, yes, we have had some good days, I'm not doubting that but have we achieved anything? Like won a cup or gained promotion......No.

Cotterill actually took Bristol City from the bottom of the league to champions in less time

For the people who say, judge at Christmas. They do remember what the table looked like last Christmas? When we had all but given up hope of gaining automatic we were already that far back

NC has achieved something he has parted our fans like moses parted the red Sea, I am backing NC to reunite our fans and get us into the championship.

What Cotterill has achieved at Bristol City is exceptional - there is always the exception to the norm. Regarding Nigel, the line in the sand has to be drawn now as to what he has to achieve next season.

My expectations of him are to ship some out, add quality and strength and assemble a squad well capable of delivering automatic who are prepared and ready to perform BEFORE opening day of the new season.

Well - here's hoping.................

Yep, gonna be pretty easy to judge how we are progressing next Season, this one wasn't good enough so he needs to be in front of that curve from day 1

Cos we know Clough has 3 losing home game streaks in his locker .......................

Unfortunately, that's what he should've done this season

That is what every club should aim to do every season though. It isn't that hard to figure out... Well, obviously it is

Suppose when you put it like that , none of us have to worry then. We have been successful , then we carry on , and improve from this seasons acheivements.

I'd say, making the play offs were a step in the right direction. A direction we were not going in when Nigel arrived.

I'd say having worse form and worse performances than under his management last season, with significantly more money and having his own players and a huge squad, isn't.

Don't get me wrong, things are far from perfect but I would rather be stressed about promotion than facing relegation. Clough still has a lot to learn especially when it comes to man management but I think he might have just learnt a big lesson this season. If he doesn't come up with the goods next season then it will be Adios amigo!!!!

I'd like to believe that Brampton, but Nigel seems to be a pretty stubborn character. Can he learn the lessons of this season? I guess we'll find out!
