In tribute to everyone’s favourite spy..... no not James Bond....Bielsa 😂😂
Blade living in Bournemouth thought I’d check out
Their last friendly before they meet the Blades next sat 10 Aug.
The night before Bournemouth played Lazio and lost 3-4 mainly due to 2 defensive howlers.
Today they put out a reasonably strong side with a few regulars Wilson,King,Ake,Cook,Smith and their new signing £15 million P Billing..
Within the first minute Bournemouth nearly had another defensive howler whilst under pressure but got away with it.
Soon after Bournemouth settled and right away scored through Callum Wilson a nice finish, shortly after they were 2-0 up due to another nice goal from Kilkenny.
Apart from the goals not a lot of chances from either side,Bournemouth had more of the ball.
Second half again not a lot of chances to be fair,Lyon improved a little but considering they finished 3rd in Ligue 1 and are again in the Champions league they didn’t really play that well,I was expecting better.
To sum up Lyons disappointing display they had a defensive howler themselves and got caught with Wilson setting up Josh King to make it 3-0.
P Billing went off late in the game, maybe due to cramp or a slight injury,he looked very good all game in midfield, big lad,one of Bournemouth’s best players on the day.
Bournemouth’s attack was quite clinical with not a lot of great chances but I feel the defence can be got at when pressured.
My team for next week:

Henderson
Jags Egan Bryan
Baldock Norwood Freeman Stevens
Robinson
Sharp. McBurniie

I’m thinking JOC still hasn’t recovered from his slight knock,worrying.......UTB

Good match report. Let's hope they had a spy at Reims too. I love being the underdog. :)

Think Stevens in the back 3 and Osborn LWB is more likely , and Fleck ahead of L Freeman.

We'll see soon enough.

Make no mistake about it, Bournemouth are there to be got at with Tuftyball and overloading.

Fear them and fear defeat, play at flat midfield and we'll invite them on and risk losing. It'd be scandalous to be overtaken by a sense of occasion on returning to the top flight and to lose points against Bournemouth when there's definitely points there to be won. They'll be much stronger later in the season than they will be next week.
