I am not on Twitter, but will be there around 5ish. Easy to spot, I'll be the one drinking lager in a beer pub. Great post by the way, brings home the relevance of the event. Life can be much more closely balanced than most people even want to think about.
Great to meet you and sleep with you!

I think you need a bigger flask though!

:)

Well, I've spent the night in the Copthorne and at least a couple of nights in the car park for tickets, but that's the first time I've ever "slept" pitch side, it's a privilege I wasn't going to turn down :)

Was good to see a decent turnout, the likes of Cloughy and Mal Brannigan doing the full stint and always good to see other forum members (HillmortonBlade and itsinyerblood).

A big thank you to everyone who has kindly donated, that's what it was all about... We were never going to get anywhere near the experience of what it is like to be on the streets, but in trading our beds for pitch-side we have at least managed to help in a small way, those that are in a less fortunate position.

We're at around £800, with the odd donation to add to that, which is great :D

Just to dispel any misunderstanding, I made an appearance at last night's sleep-out but due to feeling poorly the best I could manage was to put on a brave face and spend a couple of hours chatting with those who actually spent the night sleeping on the ground at the Lane. A HUUGGGGE round of applause to Foxy and Linz (now that I've met her I can remove the image of jackboot wearing admin), the always personable silverfox and the equally friendly HillmortonBlade. These are the people who made the effort to go to ground, gain some experience of what it's like to sleep rough, and made the whole exercise worthwhile.

I'd also like to show my deep appreciation to everyone who sponsored myself plus those who gave to the Forum's fund. If you're reading this there's still time to contribute (I think!) so why not tap in the following address - wwwjustgiving.com/s24su - and make a contribution. It doesn't matter whether it's a few quid and something slightly larger. You'll not be judged by how much you contribute, but by the your spirit of generosity. UTB

And thanks to you Alf for coming and showing your support despite being under the weather yourself.

Still part of our team fella!

Well done to all involved.

Did NC get any hassle over team selections, tactics etc before he bedded down for the night?

He was crowded when he came over....our lot didn't go to him so not sure if he got any "advice" :)

I must confess that I would have slept in my "church" , The Lane, just to say I've done it!

But for you lot to donate over £1000 is incredible.

Many thanks to you all for your generosity!

Just incase anyone has been away a while and missed Team SU4SU s efforts.
Foxy, Linz, Silverfox, itsinyerblood, Hillmorton Blade. Did the hard work and a good few of us managed to spare a bit of cash for the cause. I think the page is still open for donations so if you did miss it and can spare a little. https://www.justgiving.com/s24su
