"Of course the crowd does not help but I've seen this before plenty of times in my career.

"You've just got to be brave and demand the ball. If you play for a big club then there are big expectation levels and fans have the right to air their grievances."

He is true, the crowd calling for the managers head doesnt help the players.

EDIT: This is my 200th post :D

I thought that Speed spoke very well and fair play to him for stepping into the breech following a cowardly no-show from Robson.

The crowd have been more then patient by todays standards, a very well respected and recently successful manager like Sam Allerdyce was give much less time in his last job.

Moaning pay be counter productive but, having sat through the vast majority of this season consistently dire performances, i challenge anyone to not show a little frustration with the way we are playing.

true calling for the managers head dosent help.

But what about the 60 odd mins before it really started?

couldnt hear it from where im sat, was only from kop in the last 30 or so mins calling for robsons head.

To be fair,

To say how dire the game was, I thought the Kop did well for themselves not to barrack the team till about minutes in to the game (not saying they should do at all, just that it is long time for them)

Atmosphere was none existant yesterday. Worst i've heard it for quite a while.

I hated it yesterday - 30mins of a match? ... Oh well thats fine then only a third of the game for the players to be negatively affected ... They have no confidence, no belief and appear scared of making a mistake - even Geary got slated yesterday for just one misplaced pass ... Im not saying Robson should stay - Nor am I saying he should go but the actions some fans are chosing to demonstrate are IMO having the opposite affect from the desired one ... I agree a fan has the right to voice their opinion but when will people accept it isnt making a helping!

Bexley, the majority of the time United fans are having a go is merely out of frustration.

If they are misplacing places like yesterday its rather understandable

Agree totally....

There was about a 5 min spell in particular where I thought the players showed they were directly affected by the crowds attitude... someone misplaced a pass... was groaned at, shouted at and booed.... followed by a spell of players panicing on the ball... jumping in too early for challenges and generally showing major nervousness/lack of confidence in anything they did.

I understand that - but the other 18/19 thousand blades managed to control their 'frustration' - My point is what they are doing, out of 'frustration' is not having any benefit (IMO)

It is becoming increasingly difficult to keep a civil tongue at times during matches, but I just can't bring myself to boo the players.

To be honest, a stunned silence would more than tell its own tale to the players and management .....

Oh, that happened yesterday, didn't it .....

I'm not saying I'm booing the players, but a couple of times I shouted at in frustration at what I was seeing.

Along those lines, I thought Brian Moore's tantrums during the Italy v England match were straight out of the top drawer today :D

I've yelled umpteen times in the past (if I don't shout "Learn the ferkin rules!" to at least one of the officials during a match, then I'm clearly ill), but I just can't bring myself to barrack the players.

It's only basic things that seriously frustrate me, ie positioning, simple passes, not noticing an easy ball, trying things that aren't gonna work.
