The fact that even Wrexham couldn't pay the asking price shows how much they wanted and imo he's too much of a risk for any club to spend that on. When Martin is sacked used correctly he's a super player to have in league one! Unfortunately they have one of the worst managers in English football. All style no substance

Yep, seems they actually did want £5mil plus for him. No surprise us and Wrexham said no to that.

I think a deal was all but done then Wrexham entered the chat.

I reckon Leicester hoped ourselves and Wrexham would go into a bidding war for him. When in reality we both made our offers and left them on the table.

I heard it was as good as done, not sure if it was a loan with an obligation to buy, but his performances in the World Cup put a spanner in the works as Leicester thought they'd get far more for him than the practically done deal.

Leicester turned down a huge fee from us and he doesn't even start for a team in 18th place in League One. Centre back isn't a priority, it's wingers but perhaps one to revisit in January on a far cheaper deal.
