Anything else happening? Lost my ITK contact as he moved up to Crookes facility from Shirecliffe!

I used to speak to an "actual " sufc scout ( he used to do sat/sun watching junior/lower league matches) He once told me he was getting really pissed off because any recommendations were getting ignored, a couple of which were picked up by EPL academies.
As a club our scouting/recruitment team are poor .

Don't disagree. In a previous life maybe 10 years ago i would have happily given a list of 20/30 names to united into who we needed to sign/look at.
quite comically all the main ones from the last 5 years or so have gone onto Brighton & Brentford

Absolutely it's been 20 years since I was involved in junior football and Sunday league, at the time there was a lot of allegations/ rumours that a lot of the "top" junior clubs in Sheffield were "feeding " clubs like Mufc,Leeds, forest etc with the best lads playing for them in return for equipment, sponsors etc.
TBF a lot of good young players go to clubs like man city where they get very limited experience before their academy contracts expire and end up in the lower leagues ( if they're lucky) trying to re-establish themselves.
A good majority of them just go because of parents who get pound signs .

I didn’t say the contact was literally inside LCFC, but equally they have their own network.

I’ve said this many times on this forum that I used to work within a business that did lots of work within local clubs (Blades / Millers / Chesterfield / SWFC). As such, you make professional contacts over those years, some stay in touch, some don’t, it’s not 100% always about football either.

My Leicester contact messaged out of the blue pre WC saying this was happening. I asked his confidence and he said 80%. As a source I won’t then press his own sources, and equally I take any ITK with a pinch of salt.

As this thread has been progressing I check in every now and then with him, and as said above, he still very much believes this is going ahead. Whether it does or not is out of everyone’s hands bar the decision makers.

I’m not ITK, I have some connections who sometimes drop info. It’s not sensitive information or set in stone, but equally, these names usually do come from within the club.

Another example, I was told about three seasons in a row that Ben Wiles was coming to us by a Millers contact, to the point of him being shown round the facilities. It never happened, however I think even that one I put on here that there were whisperings.

Re: Souttar, I’d never put my mortgage on the little bits of info I get, but equally I don’t think they’re completely without substance. The fact that this was mentioned long before gathering pace on here gives me some insight that discussions have been ongoing for a while.
