With an early termination clause should something happen. Can’t have a valuable loan slot sidelined all season even if his wages were insured.

It’s not an easy call. A fit and firing Souttar definitely improves us.

But it would be a significant outlay with significant risk.

If he goes to the World Cup and plays well, his future becomes a conversation that doesn’t involve us.

We’d have to get in now really, which makes it a very reluctant no for me

The impact he could have is massive, unlike any other signing

So I'm edging towards signing him

Just try not to take any other injury risks. And get it done before the WC

He has another two years to go on a very good Leicester contract, whilst they may want to sell to the reduce their wage bill, he would not want to join us for less money. Subsequently a loan is the only likely option

He’s in his late 20s and has only played just over 150 career games. About a third of those were with Fleetwood Town. I have major doubts that he’s ever going to play 30+ games over multiple seasons.

With T.Davies gone we should also try to offload Shackleton to some lucky club.

I can then cope with Souttar being a risk if he's the only player we have that is "injury prone".

Can't think off top of my head who we also have that struggles with injuries.

We've done well if we've had 60 minutes out of Campbell.
