Hi, a Saints fan here. Many Saints fans are wondering whether you want the Blades to lose the last game of the season (if you cannot reach the Play - Offs) so Wednesday gets relegated, or play for the honour and win it.

Will we see more Red and White stripes than usual at St.Mary´s or will you support your team?:)

i want a win, but i would prefer Southampton in the league than the pigs. We may win and still the pigs go down!

It's been discussed on a few thread here :)

If we have something to play for, then I hope the Blades will try their hardest to get a result for us. We have to look after our own interests before anything else.

If we don't have anything to play for, I can't see the Blades laying down for you after what we went through with West Ham last season... but should you score, I can see the travelling Blades fans celebrating with you :D

Rest assured, we want the piggies down instead of any other club!

EDIT: See HERE and HERE

Welcome :)

Personally, I want us to win every game, regardless of whether it helps Wednesday.

Providing we didn't throw the game and you should win however?...

Ahh well, every cloud has a silver lining and all that ;) :D

With any luck, they'll have condemned themselves by then anyway.

I'd like us to win, but i wouldn't be as disappointed as usual if we lost.
And I'm sure they're be plenty more red and white stripes than usual:D

Personally I think it's looking very tight for Wednesday regardless of whatever might happen between our two teams on the last day. They've got Leicester coming up next week and Norwich on the last day... neither of those sides are going to want to leave it to chance and there's plenty about the turmoil Wednesday are in on these boards, both on and off the pitch.

Hi Mullet

Last trip down for me was good...........we had some great banter with the young Southampton lads right next to me in the away end despite the stewards being idiots.

I will be there and may cheer for you lot depending on circumstances.

:D:D:D

Simple.......... if the Blades still in contention for play off place you've lost.
However if the Blades are out of contention and you winning sends the pigs down our Gert and the Blades under 12's will be travelling down to Southampton to play yer......................

Thanks for all the comments!

Good luck to you in the future (not against us of course:))

Hehehe... and the same to you :)

I don't know if you'll be at the game in May, but I think the Blades will be travelling in good numbers with the customary fancy dress given an airing. Should be a good party whether we've got anything to play for or not.

If we lose and you stay up, you owe us a pint ;)

Blades winning at the 90th minute ! Pigs up and celebrating ! Saints to equalise 92nd sending em down Blades going wild. That'll do me.

At least you have the decency to play in red and white stripes!

If we've nothing to play for, then I can see us playing a few of the youth team. Much as we did away at Bolton in 2001 when we had Tonge, Jagielka, and Monty playing.

If our youth side, playing to get experience were to lose, it would hardly be a conspiracy, would it?

Ooh, no sir.

I'd much rather we won than lost, but if we couldn't reach the play-offs and a Saints win kept them up and sent Wendy down then I'm sure I would be drinking Champagne in Southampton.

I live in Sweden so cannot make the game.:(

I'd like it to be a draw because come on, were not gunna make the play-offs now are we? a 1-1 draw will do me fine, sending Wednesday down :)

I'd go for a win everyday for the Blades regardless of consequences. HOWEVER, if we were to concede and lose and the Owls went down, you will see scenes of jubilation :D

A lot of Southampton fans are worrying that as a club, United will want Wednesday to survive regardless of what us as fans think.

Their reasoning is that the derby matches guarantee a sell-out and buzz around the club which attracts floating fans into Bramall Lane.

Can I just say, I would rather not play Sheffield Wednesday any time soon. Hillsborough is an awful place to visit and I don't want the piggies anywhere near Bramall Lane... quite a few seats went missing after their last visit.

With the ticket prices they've released as well, it would make more business sense in the long run to see them relegated. Are floating fans going to want to pay £30 to watch League One football or anywhere between £15~£25 to watch Championship football? It could pay dividends in boosting our long-term support... not just the hangers on who come out for the derby games.

I know SWFC have shot themselves in the foot by not having a student NUS price for the season tickets, only U21. Not all students fit into this category and I should hope, with the student accommodation springing up around the Lane, SUFC take full advantage of this own goal. I don't know if it's true now, but Sheffield used to have the highest proportion of students remaining in the city following graduation and with the earning potential far out-weighing non-graduates, it's a market we ought to tap into.

Sorry, went slightly off topic there but the gist remains.

Send the piggies down.

That is all :D
