Sharp did say awhile back that he wouldn't play at the Lane as long as Blackwell was there. If you believe McCabe at the fans forum he said Sharp would stay a Blade.

He also said on the day we got promoted after beating Palace in the last game that we would not be returning to the championship so one can never believe everything said in football.

surely cardiff?

Three managers have had a problem with Billy ,Warnock who sold him away tp Scunny and Robson and Blackwell ,my understanding which is built on info from ex Blades players I know is that the problem is not Billy, not the managers more of a pushy third party situation .Saying no more.

Say more, please. Who is the pushy third party? His girlfriend? His mummy? Princess Michael of Kent? A man with a wheelbarrow?

Also if we did have Billy back in the side, playing a way that suits him and he doesn't replicate his form for other clubs when in a Blades shirt would he be given plenty of support, or booed relentlessly every time he missed the goal?

It was worse than that, he said we'd never see a promotion celebration again....

A good point - when he signed for us it was well received but it didn't take long for the fans to turn when he wasn't doing the business on the pitch. With the weight of expectation that seems to be lumped on him on this and other message boards how long would it be before we're back to square one with him if he doesn't deliver the goals this time round.

Granted, the anger may be focused more on Blackwell this time rather than Billy but he's always struck me as a confidence player and I don't think he'd do well at The Lane at the moment.
