It could well be that NEC will lose another important player in January. English Sheffield United has approached the club with a million-dollar bid for winger Sontje Hansen, as reported by SoccerNews .

Sheffield United concrete for Sontje Hansen, RC Lens lurking

Sheffield has already officially reported and has a transfer fee of around 3.5 million euros for Hansen. French club RC Lens is also still on the market for the former Ajax player. "But they first have to complete an outgoing transfer before they can actually report to NEC. Sheffield United has already done that", Boualin knows.

It is not yet known whether Hansen himself is open to Sheffield, who are in third place in the Championship after 26 rounds. The 22-year-old right winger arrived on a free transfer from Ajax in July 2023, where he did not see sufficient prospects of a breakthrough into the first team at the time.

This season, his tally stands at 5 goals and 1 assist in 18 official matches for NEC, which has had a disappointing season so far. However, Hansen regularly manages to escape the Nijmegen malaise, which has now also been noticed by scouts from foreign clubs.

Obligatory highlight reel from last year. With the kind of awareness shown for the first goal I’d say our search for a fox in the box is over.

Feeling dry? Here's some moisture

If he can consistently deliver that sort of end product, I'm in (though it's a big if - wingers are often incredibly inconsistent)

That aside, that corner routine is utter wank.

"The Star understands that Hansen is not a player on the Blades’ radar as things stand and that no bid has been lodged for his services."

The end.

I've always slagged off the Star, but Danny Hall is on top of things. He doesn't commit to much that isn't true.
It's shit because this immediately got me excited, he could be a wildcard in a list of good but uninspiring rumours we have at the moment. The unknown is always quite enthralling, but I guess Chris is aiming more for experience.

Unless Jesu is more seriously injured than he's letting on?
