Song Red Carded

Pretty poor game and the amount of diving from some was embarrassing. Refs and VAR keep getting blame which is understandable to a degree but its high time more is made of the constant simulation and feigning injury.
Disgraceful. Wouldn't have Richarlison in our side if he paid us to play. Can't see anything to fear in Spurs. Hard to believe they made the Champs League final.

i have alot of sympathy for the ref, he had see a replay. all he knew is that there was a challenge that left gomes with maybe off top of my head the worst injury since shawcross in ramsey. especially the reaction of the players they were all but dragging the paramedics on to pitch immediately. he had to give a red because can you imagine it the other way that it was son challenge he only gets a yellow. Martin Atkinson would get reprimanded by ref board

I'm amazed that they could appeal it? The decision went to VAR did it not?

If they decide to overturn the red, they're basically admitting that their tech is shit. Can't see it happening.

No VAR involved, just Atkinson making his own mind up to give a red rather than a yellow after seeing the injury. That in itself is a worrying thing though.

Think it's fair enough personally, and I wouldn't have appealed it. With context it's a retaliation tackle with little chance of winning the ball.

If they overturn it it'll be because they feel sorry for Son.

Very disappointed, clicked on hoping for our latest new song, only to find someone is a bit silly, or stupid, I reserve judgement, but E- for the effort anyway.

;)

Never been a red card offence. We'd end at 7 a side if all of these type of tackles received a red

It’s bad news for the game on Saturday but it is the correct decision

It still might affect him, seeing the effect of his tackle had him in tears. He might be tentative for a few games going into tackles, the refs will also have an eye on him until the incident is out of the media.

Before I start it’s the right decisions.

BUT how can they rescind it after releasing the statement after the game explaining why it was a red card

The red card should have stood really, there was never any intention to play the ball and tackles from behind were outlawed years ago for the exact reason that they had the potential to cause injuries. Plenty of times people actually win the ball with a clean tackle and concede a foul, so deliberately fouling someone like that should be a red even if there was no injury involved

Maybe he just got a series of games where all the players acted like bellends? Connor Sammon could have got six unmissable chances in three games, but that he's scored three in three wouldn't make him a prolific striker

It's been confirmed that Heung-Min Son's red card has been rescinded and he is now eligible to play against us.

Finally some common sense is starting to prevail after the farcical nightmare that VAR is becoming. I genuinely felt sorry for Atkinson at the weekend as he was undermined on every key decision that he made.

Personally, I really like Son. He's a quality player who conducts himself on and off the pitch with dignity. He's one of my favourite top flight players of the last few years.

It was announced at around 1700 hrs. I agree with your comments though

Do you think he will be in the right place mentally to play?
