Agree with that too. But Hecky does have the benefit of a decent team in the championship, whist Wilder had to set up a team capable of scoring in the Prem and keep it tight at the same time which is a very tough gig for a newly promoted team. But I think he definitely became over critical of the players at the end and I can imagine the players became less confident that the manager believed in their individual and collective abilities, not helped by Wilders ultra competitive approach possibly. I do think Wilder appears to lack the arm around the shoulder at times, this is particularly important when you hit tougher times. I'm not so sure he'll change though if Boro do hit a difficult patch. Maybe Knilly does that, but I still think Wilder could improve on this, based on what he says to the press.I think CW over did it with the "up against world class players line" of course we were, the fans knew it so I'm sure the players did without being constantly reminded of it. When you are constantly banging on about how you can't make a mistake in the premier league then fear starts to creep into the players minds. Slowly we went from the fresh new boys giving it a go to a team taking the safe options and then to a team playing defensively and ultimately there just hoping to keep the score respectable. In the end the team was shot of confidence they knew they were not trusted and even that is only just starting to turn around with Hecky From playing backwards and sideways we are just starting to move forwards again and that is with 3-5-2 which Wilder in the end couldn't make work.
If I pop a Viagra I’m rock hard pal.Can I just ask how hard you are on the hard scale?
I reckon double hard bastard.
Its not ducks
That's it for me. A last minute winner and scenes. I love Wilder and how he took us forward and the way he did it but (and I know it's been done a million times) the last time we actually saw him in the skin we were pushing for Europe. Let that sink in. What went after, O'Connell injury, no crowds, drop in form of senior players, all conspired against us, and him. His big money signings were questionable and he seemed to lose the dressing room but some of the nonsense spouted about him after he left is laughable. There's a select few who know the ins and outs of his reasons for leaving and if and how much his pay off was but are desperate to reinforce their unsubstantiated opinions on him. That's what gets my goat. Like many, I'll be showing my support and thanks to him when he appears down the tunnel. When the whistle goes for ko I hope we bury the bastards.I’m not playing at anything my pal. But let’s not quarrel any further.
What’s your prediction for New Year’s Day?
I’m going 3-2 us.

I’ve no axe to grind with Wilder. He was, for 80% of his time here absolutely outstanding but like it or not he wasn’t perfect. He earned the club a substantial amount of money, the majority of which was given back to him that he reinvested in players below the standard of what we needed. Yes, we were fishing in a different pond wages wise but you can’t expect the club to go gung ho straight away. The truth is, at present not a single penny of the multi millions he was financially backed with has been worthwhile so far. (Ramsdale excepted just for the profit but he isn’t here anymore) This is the same man who always said he would treat the clubs money like his own. Again, sad but true.Let’s see how he fares at Boro when he gets financial backing over a sustained period. I think you will find his position became untenable with the people in charge of our club at the moment.
That's what Colin would do - I hope Chris isn't crass enough to do that but if he does , he'll finally run out of apologists , apart from the utterly deluded.I don't care either way anymore, we and he as moved on.
I'm all for giving the man respect but I hope he gives it back by not running up the touchline banging his red lion badge on his new boro body warmer. That would hurt!

I’d expect him to get a great reception, but can totally understand any negative reactions he might get
He will slide along the touch line for their 96th minute winner. He will then stride manfully towards the Boro fans banging his chest, kissing the badge and leading the players in a salute to their delirious fans. That's what Colin would do - I hope Chris isn't crass enough to do that but if he does , he'll finally run out of apologists , apart from the utterly deluded.
