Like to think you are a smart one don't you? Throw out a few insults and finish it off with well wishes....seen your type loads of times, proper snide kidney puncher....

For what it's worth I know all about Mental Health issues thanks very much. You say that "money doesn’t make any difference when it comes to mental health" which I completely agree with having turned down several work opportunities over the years for exactly that reason. So whatever you think you know, if Wilder was suffering as badly as you claim then he would have left after the Palace game, pay-off or not....

No I won't be clapping Wilder, but I won't boo him either out of respect for the good times. I won't clap someone who left my club the way he did, who held us to ransom, who shouldered none of the blame. Any manager or player that conducts themselves professionally whilst at the Club, leaves and continues to hold the Club in high regard is welcome back at any time. The rest can fuck off.
We can do this the rest of the day if you want or just put our energy into something better.

We disagree and that’s that. Enjoy the next chapter and let’s see if there’s another subject we agree on.

Today we welcome back to Bramall Lane for the first time since he ran away through the back door, Club Legend Chris Wilder, who took us to fantastic heights and gave us some great memories while being a bit of a twat behind the scenes. (Sobs, wipes away tear). Fan, ball boy, player and manager who drank his Peroni in the Bessemer rather than Maggies Mays. Bastard. Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, transgenders, CHRIS WILDER.....

How’s it going Chris? Me old mate, best pal, please acknowledge me.

Pandemonium in stands calms down

ALAN BIGGS - l love you Chris

KEVIN GAGE - COVID isn’t real

FALLOWFIELD BLADE - Why isn’t McBurnie playing?

As the players run into the pitch Moussett collapses after being told there’s no post match buffet.

I wouldn’t kidney punch you pal. I’d just lay one on your jaw my mate.

😂.....

I bet it would be one of those sucker punches though from behind your mates back when I was looking the other way....better make sure it was a good one though eh.....;)

Hi Stegosaurus here

I think he needs booing. He left united in a worse state than when he joined

I hope this thread doesn't reflect the feelings of the fans in the ground. It would be a massive shame if he got anything other than a very appreciative reception.

I'm sure he will, as internet forums tend to bring out the worst in people.

That wouldn’t be the case at all sausage. My rule of thumb is that you should never hit a man who doesn’t look capable of breaking your jaw, and I know that would rule you out.

He will get a great reception, I’ve never heard anyone in real life express anything other than gratitude for what he achieved.

Abdullah says
That through the week
The training ground just leaks
But when the weekend comes around
He knows where I will be

Leaving through the Back Door
After losing on a Saturday night, again
Holding on to grudges you and I
Holding on to grudges oh yeah

No dislike , just not seduced by his previous glories & love of the club into pretending he didn't fuck up.
Why do you say it's laughable to say the squad he left was in a shit state ? It certainly was.
For a club that's done 2 years in the PL to be playing 2 old men as strikers ?
To have virtually no midfield ?
To have no physically dominant athletic CB.
To be so brassic that it had to sell its goalie + even then couldn't make a single purchase ?
To struggle in the Championship compared to other recently relgated clubs ?
Open your eyes.
I don't hate Wilder but I do hate the deliberate ignoring of the evidence that he left us in tatters after bad signings , stupid signings of untried Brewster when a LCB & MF was crucial , stupid Lunny situation , stupid awards of unnecessary contracts to cronies who subsequently sat on their arses , stupid clinging to a failing system of play.
He clearly "lost his grip" from the moment he played an unfit JoC in the restart in Spring 2020.
But equally the Board are to blame for failing to properly supervise & ratify his decisions.
Between him & the Board , the club PISSED AWAY the best chance in my 55 years of supporting dem Blades for them to spend a decent period in the top division.
Chris Wilder can't escape his fair share of my anger & sadness about that.
He said he'd never compromise the club's finances - he did.
He said he'd not leave "by the back door" - he did (though that is to some extent excused by his mental suffering at the time).
What is truly laughable is the last line of your post , inviting me to compare our squad to the pigs ! What relevance are they ? Had they had 2 years of PL income ?
Our comparators are Fulham , WBA , Bournemouth & other yoyo clubs.
Anyway , if you like Wilder so much , give him a nice present on Saturday ... Give him McKnob , Moussefat , Brewster's Millions & Burkey Boy ... But make sure he takes over their wages.
Well said.

Warm applause on entry.

Then 90 minutes of 'he's fat, he's round, he took the Blades back down, back door Chris, back door Chris'

It’s a Golden Buzzer from me!

Yet those same players along with other he signed for millions he labelled as "League 1 quality" not long after.
I remember him saying that but can't remember after what game, seem to recall it was in the PL after a defeat in the first season?

You and I may well think he shouldn't have said that but on the other hand he says things to get a reaction and when he did that usually he got one. Id love to know how the relationship with the players and Wilder was at the end/during the last season as that is obviously pivotal to any managers success. He did seem like a bear with a sore head last season but many will say that's not surprising given how it was going. I didn't like at times how he signalled out players for individual criticism and I do wonder if Wilders attitude/demeanor eventually backfired and the players or too many of the players lost the motivation/confidence to pay under Wilder. Problem is I have no idea as to how it was and one thing we do know is that on the whole, as a minimum, the players ran through brick walls for him.

Wilder gave me some of the best days ive had watching united. I'd say 90% of his time was brilliant, until the last season which has been discussed to death.
One of the things that wound me and I didn't like at all that he did, was his treatment of Mark Duffy. From the outside Wilder seemed to negotiate a new shit hot contract at the end of nearly every season (which he deserved) and made sure everybody knew about it. Then when Duffy who had spent all his career scratching around in lower leagues, and worked his way up to the very top and was integral to us being such a joy to watch dared to ask for a few quid more, Wilder went apeshit and treated him like he'd murdered his grandma. All seemed very childish and "do as I say not as I do". Bit like your nob head boss at work who claims he's got your best interests at heart but won't ever let you get a promotion or pay rise as he wants to keep you down at the bottom rung.

On reflection ...... I loved Tufty while he was our manager and he brought back the good times, some fantastic memories and enjoyable football after the dross that was Adams, Clough and Adkins 🙈

He's now another team's manager so I hope we beat his team and that is as much thought as I will give him

COYRAWW ........ carry on where you left off at Fulham and we'll all be happy ;)

You haven't a clue what I look like my dear, but by all means, keep playing the hard man.....

I think CW over did it with the "up against world class players line" of course we were, the fans knew it so I'm sure the players did without being constantly reminded of it. When you are constantly banging on about how you can't make a mistake in the premier league then fear starts to creep into the players minds. Slowly we went from the fresh new boys giving it a go to a team taking the safe options and then to a team playing defensively and ultimately there just hoping to keep the score respectable. In the end the team was shot of confidence they knew they were not trusted and even that is only just starting to turn around with Hecky From playing backwards and sideways we are just starting to move forwards again and that is with 3-5-2 which Wilder in the end couldn't make work.

Hi Stegosaurus here,

I always suspected that Wilder was a closet pig.
