There is an unusual void in my emotions leading up to Christmas, and I’ve just realised what it is.

I’ve watched the Blades for nearly 50 years, and I think that before today 1974 was the last time that I wasn’t worrying at Christmas about the end of the season. Would we stay up, would we make the playoffs, would TC leave etc...

FFS I’m from Yorkshire and I need to worry. Maybe I can worry about getting Walsall in the Cup - are they still in it?

Sounds like you're coming down with "common sense syndrome". This is something that affects fairly intelligent people who are capable of rationalising things objectively. It begins with looking at facts and doing away with superstitious nonsense. As the disease spreads, the person loses the ability to be a negative twat, and instead of looking down the table at the relegation spots all the time, they start looking at the top of the table and wondering how high we'll finish. In the more advanced stages of the disease, the person usually comes to terms with us being a very good football club and stops criticising every small thing that goes wrong. The reality is, most people are cured of the disease long before it reaches this stage.

Agree and some hard working players will get shafted and start to turn in shite performances because, new guy is on £x more after just signing cause he's the new gaffers mate..

Unlike previous years I’m not even worrying about sales.
Incredibly we don’t have a best player who we rely on so much.
That means we can lose almost anyone and we’re not massively weakened.

I have a theory that it’s our system/ teamwork that brings out the best in players.
So we can replace players...teach them the system and we’ll remain a good team.

They all had fat cheques written before August. Then they've got to bed in. Won't effect how good we are

That is a great point, the teams that might turn their heads would almost certainly want to spend a fortune on a obscure foreign player instead, more fool them, & as for the other teams unless it was a double your wages situation then I can't see them wanting to go.

I could see Manure making us an offer we can’t refuse for JOC to play alongside Harry. JOC and Mings are the 2 best lefties around.

I know what you are saying mate but Maguire has been playing most of his career on the left even though he is right footed, so not sure that would work.
