Some positives

Genuine question, on what basis should we have won?

We could have been 2/3 goals up in the first half, McBurnie hit the crossbar in the second which should have gone in. West Ham scored 1. Do the hypothetical maths. :)

The positive is that we only have to finish above Fulham, West Brom and Burnley to stay up.

While that remians a possibility, there is still hope.

So I'm told anyway 😟

But we are the worst of those 4. We made hard work of getting a point at home to Fulham, a game we should really have lost

So we just disregard the chances West Ham created then?

And the fact that none of the chances were taken. Points are awarded for chances created, you have to finish them as well. Fail to score in a game, you don't 'deserve' to win, it's as simple as that (barring referring interventions of course).

I thought we started the first half much better than recent games. Looked far more lively and up for it. Pressing well and moving the ball quicker. We also put in a a few quality low crosses.

I didn't think West Ham looked very good first half but a lot of that could well be down to how we played off the ball. We looked a lot more solid at the back.

McBurnie looked better and we created more chances than usual.

United's crossing was better first half.
McBurnie was unlucky twice.
He worked exceptionally hard.
Come on United.
Win the next game.
Love the positivity ... I thought we looked a lot better today #UTB - 3 points V WBA next week and we are off and running.... and 3 points we will get

WBA next week ... a banker .... If Last Man Standing was running ... I would be picking the Blades next week ... and no I have not started drinking yet

On what basis is it a banker? We were fortunate to get a point against Fulham.

I’d love to be in a last man standing with you.

Yes they didnt score apart from one goal.

We score our chances and we should have won it in the first half.

The Mcburnie one was the only really good chance we had. West Ham created the better chances in the game.

The header he had in the first half was just as good a chance but their goalie made a good save.

Lol - Its like being in a casino and seeing 9 REDS drop on the roulette wheel in a row ......... a BLACK just has to drop - so get your chips on Black..... Seriously though, we are fortunate that WBA and Fulham and Burnley are just as poor - 3 points and out of the bottom 3 is the motivation.

Reply back next week and if we DON'T win ... I will give £20 to your Xmas Charity of choice ... I will donate even if we draw. 2 0 here we come

Yes they didnt score apart from one goal.

We score our chances and we should have won it in the first half.

If me auntie had bollocks etc.

Story of the season though, we are completely toothless all over the park. We haven’t ‘deserved’ to win a single game all season imo.

I thought we were decent first half, but again the worrying thing was how we fell apart after the goal. We need a flukey goal to go in off someone's arse or something. I think if we lose to West Brom next week I might give up the ghost.

The spirit is knocked easily at the min. The mentality of "we're doing this and it's still not working!"

PlPositives:
-Ramsdale looked much more composed than in previous games.
-Fleck put a couple of good balls in from the left hand side of the pitch.

And erm that's about it.

Oh and we created absolutely piss all, but will again blame the fact our strikers can't score with every single chance, or indeed half chance they get.
Someone on twitter claimed that any decent striker would've got a Hatttick today.. 🤔

Before I say owt else, I'm not clutching at straws here.

Right now, it feels shit and I'm as gutted as the next Blade.

However - this is not a 'we didn't turn up, we're useless' feeling of disappointment.
This is a 'we looked a bit better and deserved something from that' feeling of disappointment. There's a huge difference between the two.

Yes, we're still not fully at it and it lacks tempo, yes there's obvious flaws in how we're playing but in comparison to our pretty shite starting point, that was an improvement. We tried to move the ball about, the full backs tried to get forward, we whipped balls in early and McBurnie tried to get on the end of them. The strikers will benefit from that.

The first McBurnie chance where he forces a save, the first half header, the McGoldrick header and then the McBurnie shot that thunders against the bar. Take some of those and we have our first win of the season. Those chances created are what McBurnie and Brewster work best with, now they've got to remember what they are doing - as it's been a while since they had owt to work with.

UTB. 🔴⚪⚔️
Don’t agree.

We look abject. I’ve seen a lot of ‘what if’s’ from our fans for every game we’ve played this season but we really look poor.

We deserved nothing from that game. A mid-table team didn’t have to get out of 2nd gear against us.
