When it says not transferable it means you cannot have a new member come in and your points go to that new member. As for people using others points that is why there is a family and friends link.
Tell you what then after every five years why not reset every ones points to 10k apart from those building them up. if they stay loyal they will then hit 10 k and all fans will be equal. Lets see if that satisfies those with 15/20/30 k points. watch for the scramble then at the ticket office and be caller number 38, ("let me hold you"). Yes me and my family and friends will use the ticket points within the present set up and rotate them.
You don't get it do you, if somebody with 30k points decides not to go to a game and buys a ticket which he then sells on to a friend with little or no points he effectivly becomes a ticket tout who may be depriving a fan with say 20k points the chance to buy a ticket. The family and friend link should only come into play when the friend with the lowest points total is allowed to purchase tickets.

Yes I do get it. I complained about it last year. And your solution to the abuse of the system is?

Missed out. Pretty gutted, was looking forward to going to White Hart Lane for the first time. Oh well, a lot of away games coming up around me, have to keep building my points up for next time. Might try and make a week day trip up to the Lane for the home tie.

As annoyed as I am, if United got to the final I wouldn't really care.

Surely your 'loyalty' went out of the window a couple of years ago when you couldn't be bothered to go ?

Our Loyalty Points system has its pros & cons. It works on a 5yr rolling system, so any points you got for matches attended 5 seasons ago are wiped off at the start of each season. Good if you are a regular attendee at current games but bad if you had accumulated points watching shit games in the 1990 & early 2000s. Personally, on balance, i agree with it.

Firstly, ST holders (21.5k) get first crack of the whip - fair enough, then any tickets left over go to members (75k). For away games, everyone applies at the same time & after the ST applicants are filled in it goes to members, For example, for the first 4k you gave us, all ST holders were filled & the rest went down to members with 388 points. After you gave us another 1500, it went down to members with 98 points whose details the club obviously had on record & could send of an email to in quick order.

Simple system really, the club know whow many fans want to attend & all they have to do is work out the cut-off point.

If 5k Blades had applied for the 4k tickets on offer at WHL all your officials had to do was kick out the 1k with the lowest points.
How do they manage the "pre-ordering" bit? i.e. When do they take the money/guarantee commitment when a fans says he/she wants tkts?

When you put in your application for an away ticket, they also take your payment details. If you are within the loyalty point cut off limit after the applications deadline, they automatically debit your card & send you your ticket in due course.

Thanks.
Sounds like a great potential improvement on our system. One which would allow all the allocation to be sold as early as possible. Would possibly become a bit complicated with application from linked customer numbers with different loyalty points.

I'm sure we have had something like this in the past. I seem to remember for previous Cup Semi Finals (98 and 03 spring to mind) my mum posting off an application with a request for x number of tickets and her credit card number should there be any left. I think you had to write on the envelope which day you were entitled to get tickets. Seems rather old fashioned if you ask me! I think a similar system where you log in to the website and "reserve" tickets so that should any remain available on the day you entitled with your loyalty points they send them straight out would be better. It would avoid online queues and also the dreaded phone calls as soon as the ticket office opens.

I don't have a particularly strong opinion on this, but I would say that surely there is an argument that someone with 30k loyalty points is entitled to have some say as to who gets their ticket?

In addition, if someone starts going regularly when they can afford it, i.e. they get to working age, should they miss out on all the big games because someone else could afford it 30 years ago and has been many times before? It might be years before we get to a big semi final/final again, should there be a monopoly for those who have the time and resources to go every week?

It's like saying you can't sell your house to whoever you want because someone else wants it and they've been buying/owning houses for longer.

I wasn't suggesting it should be done on paper. I'm sure Spurs do this electronically. It's presumably a simple online pre-ordering system whereby tickets are awarded on the basis of top down loyalty points until either the full allocation has gone or everyone had the tickets they've asked for. Whichever comes first.

We dont actually send in an application by post! It is all done online, very simple. The club know what the allocation is, they know how many applications there are. If there are more applications than tickets, the fans with the lowest amount of LPs miss out. Or, we can ask the hosts for more tickets - like we did with our game at yours. The 5yr rolling system means the fans that currently attend most games get first crack of the whip.

You beat me to it.

By the way, tickets for the game on the 21st are selling well, i think it looks like being a sell-out.

Had to wait for the lowest loyalty threshold in my family, but I've now got all 3 !
Hugely looking forward to it, but with low expectations. Just hope we give you a game at your place and scare the bejaysus out of you at BDTBL!

Interesting turn of phrase to use for a club with strong Jewish roots ;)

It will be a good crack. I am in the South Upper, a couple of blocks along from the away fans.

My advice? Get in the ground early & dont take a bag, the stewards are pretty strict with the away fans (searching for smoke bombs etc).

Really? Was planning on a small rucksack for overnight grunts and toothbrushes. Is that a complete no-no? Or just a hostile search?

I just meant for speed of access. You can take bags into the ground no problem. As long as you haven't sharpened up the toothbrush handles..........

One thing the need to do with the loyalty points system is update it so it doesn't track points from the dawn of time.

I'm allright jack here on 29k points, but what about younger lads (and lasses) who start following the Blades on a regular basis

I know what you mean. My nephew has started going to the games but doesn't have a season ticket or any amount of points. He's all over FIFA these days and knows all the players etc. so when "big" games like this come up he wants to go obviously as it's a chance to see players that he sees on TV and on the games. I can get my tickets on the 1st day or at least the 2nd usually but it's a bind having to wait until general sale to go back, swap my ticket for 2 together and end up being sat in the corner.

I think that there should be some kind of rule for youngsters of a certain age i.e. the ones who are too young to go to games on their own. The only problem with that would be that you'd get people buying an adult and a kid to abuse the system.

And just as long as you don't attach your mobile to it so you can take a selfie

Only around 300 tickets left for next week's game at ours.

Must be 15k left for tonight though!!

Just seen we have pay on the gate tonight as well, i cant actually remember the last time that happened!
