Before last season, Ched Evans had scored 24 goals in 125 career appearances (0.192 goals/game). Nick Blackman has scored 15 in 71 (0.211 goals/game). I know that most of Evans' appearances were at an arguably higher level but not that much higher.

Let's not write him off before he's started; who knows, he could go and net 25+ goals this season.
Bang on Balham - this is one thing I've noticed about good ol' Danny boy. He takes what might be 'average to good' players and he somehow seems to squeeze that bit more out of 'em. Look at MacD, Evans, even Doyle. IMHO I trust his judgement entirely and given the youngsters he's bringing in, these could be players we really reap some rewards with??? Danny, Frank, and Chris will surely whip these lads into shape and before we know it....

Well, I'm hoping so at least o_O :p

Hope to see Blackman tomorrow...

I think Danny has a clear philosophy and, crucially, the players have bought into it. To an extent, his hands were tied last season where as this summer he's been able to sign players who he thinks will fit into that idea.

It looks to me that the football next season will be a passing game based on a solid spine with pace and movement up front. That's closer to my idea of how the game should be played so I'm looking forward to seeing us in action again.

Also add Collins to the above list. Him & Doyle were the two biggest transformations for me last season compared to when Micky Adams was in charge.
