As others have said, it's likely to be us. Norwich, Villa, Bournemouth, Brighton, Burnley and Southampton around the bottom. Clubs like Newcastle, West Ham, Watford and Palace could easily be around there too.

Being a bit of an optimist, I’m wondering which 7 or 8 clubs will be better than us? I could probably name them now. The top 8 from last season. After that it’s much of a muchness I think.

In our favour: our refreshing, attacking, unconventional approach to the game and the manager and the team spirit.

Against us: financial clout and better established scouting networks. Oh and the uncertainty about ownership - although I expect that to be resolved before we kick off.

I’m not in the camp of settling for 4 th from bottom. I genuinely think we can do better than that.

With the current squad? Bottom 3.

With a carefully spent budget of at least £40m? We won’t be any higher than 5th from bottom.

To stay up we need at least 40 points, and that is usually achieved by scoring at least 40 goals and no more than 60 conceded. That’s been the case for about 14 of the last 15 seasons. Without looking at my spreadsheets, I think it’s only Newcastle in 08/09 who scored/conceded those goals didnt win 40 points. If you objectively sit down with a piece of paper and work out who/how/against whom we are currently going to score 40 goals, it’ll curb your enthusiasm.

Now the official lists have been put up above, it now all of a sudden looks like we'll finish rock bottom.

We need to be aiming to finish above Norwich, Burnley & Brighton for me.

Need to WIN these home games:

That's 24pts. Then we need to find 16pts from elsewhere.

If we can play next season like we did at west brom leeds norwich and villa , last 10 minutes apart we shouldnt have any trepidation about gathering points away

Norwich`s defence makes them vulnerable. Eddie Howe may be poached by a big club which has a poor start to the season, and Bouremouth suffered some heavy defeats last season. Burnley look rather one dimensional. Brighton will be a difficult job for Potter, and will need a settled team and early points on the board to avoid being in the bottom three. Southampton could go either way. The manager has had time to do some sorting out but may well have to integrate quite a few new signings. I reckon we have a decent chance of being better than at least three of those five, never mind one or two other teams who may collapse from their last season`s form.

What a challenge it looks to me, and I'm not ashamed to say that I find it daunting! But at the same time, what a journey it promises to be and I'm just as excited as I am daunted. To look at that line-up of sides really does make it hit home how proud I am. What an achievement, one of the greatest of modern football in recent years, and I sincerely mean that.

Looking at that, Brighton, Palace (perhaps), Norwich, Southampton, Burnley could be down there. It's the strongest division in as long as I can remember! I think Villa will invest heavily and will reestablish themselves at that level, I would've included Newcastle, but not now they're getting investment, I think Bournemouth will be fine, and Watford are a distant outsider to struggle. Everton could be surprisingly dragged in, perhaps?

Oh how we could do for some Fulhams, Cardiffs and Huddersfields now! Bring it on!!

Think it's their defensive weakness. Teams that are tighter at the back tend to do better.

Norwich could be depending on TW but we have a better manager.

Brighton new manager could be terrible, team is not all that, first team striker is 36 this season - again, TW is vital.

Southampton could be ropey this season, they have been languishing around relegation spots for a few years now.

We will bring a fresh approach and new tactics to the PL, i’d say we probably have one of the most determined squads in the league, and all our players are Blades through and through, no big wage pre-madonnas in sight here. That passion could give us a big advantage when it comes to sink or swim games.

At least one promoted team goes back down so if it’s not them, it’s us or Villa. That’s why. There’s an element of hope to it.

I’m excited about the prospect of being in the top division in the country and showing everyone how good we actually are.

Will we win every week? Certainly not, but do I think we should be scared? No!
