I know we will strengthen, but at this stage what three clubs do you think will be worse than us? I think next season the Premier League will be stronger, especially with Villa going up instead of Derby. I was hoping Newcastle would struggle, but they could be getting big money. I think Norwich and Brighton will be fighting relegation, a bit worried about the third side, Bournemouth might lose some of their better players?
(I don't know why this is in bold by the way!)

I'll go for Southampton, Norwich Brighton and Palace (if Zaha goes) which would put us in 16th place. I'll take that now!!

Burnley,Southampton,Brighton,Crystal Palace,Norwich. We can finish above them IF we spend anything decent

Brighton, Norwich, Southampton.
I already feel comfortable about this other teams such as Burnley, Bournemouth and Newcastle are possibles both of the last 2 had horrific runs during the season.

Norwich could be depending on TW but we have a better manager.

Brighton new manager could be terrible, team is not all that, first team striker is 36 this season - again, TW is vital.

Southampton could be ropey this season, they have been languishing around relegation spots for a few years now.

We will bring a fresh approach and new tactics to the PL, i’d say we probably have one of the most determined squads in the league, and all our players are Blades through and through, no big wage pre-madonnas in sight here. That passion could give us a big advantage when it comes to sink or swim games.

Brighton, Burnley, Norwich, Villa, Palace, Bournemouth, Southampton, Newcastle (without a takeover) are all in a mini league with us.
Could also be a team to implode unexpectedly (poor start, manager sacking etc) such as a West Ham, Leicester, Watford. Either way, can’t see us getting cut adrift...too much character in the team to give up

I think we need to get most of our points on the board in the first half of the season, the more established sides always seem to end up near 40 points despite only being in the teens around Christmas. At one point it looked like 30 might have been enough to stay up, but despite Cardiff's not terrible end to the season they were still comfortably relegated. Almost any of the teams are beatable though, 7th downwards is a complete free-for all (even though sides like Everton, Leicester and Wolves should really have the next few spots covered), so if we concentrate on winning as many games as possible (no playing for draws from the start), the table should take care of itself, doesn't matter which three or more are below.

Palace and Bournemouth will lose the most players I think, Burnley are always likely to be down there, so too Brighton.

Norwich are currently leaky, if that continues they'll be down there.

Southampton?

Can't really say for sure until clubs start spending though.

It's a tough call this season. There doesn't seem to be a team that looks like as badly run and ripe for the drop as teams like Stoke, West Brom, Villa, Sunderland and Swansea recently.

Maybe if Potter has a steep learning curve at Brighton or it goes Pete Tonge at Newcastle again. I keep wandering how Watford are maintaining it as well, but they don't look likely to be in a struggle next season and Southampton have flirted recently but seem to have found a decent manager

I still can't believe no top team seens interested in Eddie Howe or Sean Dyche. If they went, I think either team would be in trouble.

My predictions
1. Norwich (I don't think they always concede and to often rely on late goals)
2. Villa (half a team of loanees that took them up and I thought they were a bit lucky in all 3 playoffs)
3. Brighton (Hughtons a good manager, it seems strange to sack just because wasn't attacking enough)

Rubbish. They'll lose no-one and spend bundles.

We will survive if Wilder gets the resources he needs.
We wont if he doesn't.

Abraham back to Chelsea and Ming’s back to Bournemouth two of there best players gone straight away

Gonna be a lot lot harder than previous years there’s a good 10-12 teams all aiming for top 6

From what I have seen this last season in the Premier League , just having the nerve to actually have a go at teams will see us through.

We will get beat in a few games but Wilder will go for wins rather than battle it out for a point like most of the Canon Fodder Premier League "Intelegencia".

Teams get relegated because the managers would rather draw than lose. Wins against the other fodder are what keep you up.

They can afford to bring them back now though, poss even permanently. That's like saying Hendo's gone back so blades will struggle.

Right now i'd say the 3 promoted teams and Brighton are the 4 weakest on paper but every team has cash to spend so we'll see who spends it most wisely in the next couple of months.

I think they will lose Abrahams if Chelsea have a transfer embargo could also lose Mings.

Right at this moment, the only team worse than us is Villa. That's the truth of it, and it is up to us to close the gap by sensible but ambitious recruitment. Our strength, and possible trump card is that we have a way of playing that every player understands and buys into, and not every club can say that. It's going to be tough because whilst the bottom half might be much of a muchness, they do have the quality of players that are on a different level to us.
Having said all that, and assuming a decent budget, I have every confidence in the Messiah to do what's necessary to have us comfortably safe this time next year.

They're the 5 + us that will be in the battle. I would maybe swap Newcastle for Southampton though if Newcastle lose Rafa. Southampton picked up under new manager TBF to them.

Chelsea will keep Abraham cause they can’t sign any players

And Ming’s will probably stay at Bournemouth cause he’s shown how good he is

Villa might spend loads but losing two of there main guys will be a big loss

I think Potter is the wrong choice for Brighton. I really can't see what he brought to Swansea and will be like a rabbit in the headlights this season. 1 down. I don't think that Bournemouth will be able to sustain a worthwhile recruitment drive and will lose Brookes and one other. They will be in the bye bye mix. 2 down. Southampton are one of those clubs that circle the plug hole for seasons and then go down. No major recruitment and no excitement, kudos or saleability to joiners. 3 down. I expect Everton to be in the down down and deeper and down mix. Honestly if you are having to play DCL as your top man, take a look at yourself and look at Marriott from Derby as a comparison. 4 down. Of the rest, I expect Burnley to stay up because I respect Sean Dyche to do what is needed. He does know what he is doing. Similarly Farke. A very good manager. However, if it all goes TU with bad injuries and early results going against them, panic will set in and they will sink. Villa, I can't see them failing. We took them to pieces but they do have a good team capable (with the protection of premier league wanker refs) of competing with the best.

We will survive by between one or four positions. If we don't? Fuck it, it's been a blast and we'll be back! 🌈
