So where do we stand on the players brought in to build a Championship winning side?

When we were bringing in squad players who couldn’t make the starting X1, many people said, “don’t worry, it is building for the future”. How are we feeling now then? From what aim seeing, Bogle is the only one looking likely to figure in the future. So what do we do, breathe deep and ship out the rest?

Yes, I agree on Bryan. Burke? Incredible speed and certainly upsets defenders but his basic skills are non existent. Worth a squad place but needs to score

Thinking about it, we might need to go pretty much with what we've got.

West Brom, Fulham, maybe Watford, maybe Bournemouth will all be ahead of us for any decent signings.

Of the signings we've made, Bogle obviously good, Bryan looking good enough, Osborn ok. Any of the strikers will be fine and the returning defenders will be fine. Midfield needs an overhaul.

I’d add ramsdale to that list he’s looking more and more assured every game and if he stays in the summer will look a cut above in the championship. Our strikers have great records a step down the key will be recruiting players to supply them this summer.

I realise attacking performances are much more remarked on than defensive ones for wingbacks but Bogle needs to do a lot of work on the latter. Whilst he's exciting going forward, he has been largely poor defensively, in my opinion. Ball watching, poor marking, bad positioning, weak in the tackle and poor concentration. These can all be worked on but I don't think Wilder will start him ahead of Baldock for those reasons.

McBurnie and Brewster should score goals based on their last spells in the Championship. The squad is desperate for some creativity though.

Need 100% clarity on way forward re formation(s) for next season and season beyond first and foremost as 3-5-2 a busted flush. Squad overhaul is bigger than most want to believe. From current first team squad I would only retain:

GK - Rambo/Foderingham
RWB - Baldock/Bogle
CB - Bash/Egan/JOC/Bryan
LWB- Osborn/Lowe/
CM - Berge
RM -
LM - Fleck
ACM -
CF - Brewster/Didzy/McB/Sharp/ (no pace)

Thats only 16 players plus maybe Slater/RND

Ship Out:

1. Moore (£500k)
2. Rodwell (release)
3. Robinson (£500k)
4. Jags (move to coaching role) (release)
5. Stevens (£750k)
6. Norwood (£750k)
7. Lunny (release)
8. Burke (£750k)
9. Mousset (£2.5M)

If only get £6M back in then either Prince needs to put hand in his pocket or If not use youth.

Couldn't he carry someone on his back and when he gets the ball let them take over?
Perhaps one of the young 'uns?

Agree - and with some proper coaching he will catch more crosses and stop pushing shots back into the field of play.

Berge will go. He won’t want to stay, and for whatever reason will still command a significant fee.

For all the criticism of the remaining midfielders, our midfield has been consistently poor with him in it, so any restructuring should be funded by his transfer.

when berge and lundstram have gone it only leaves us with fleck norwood and osborn at a push for midfield would be interesting to see this coubilaly but even then i think we still need 3 midfielders to come in

I think we have the following 1st team squad of 23 contracted players in the summer

GK - Rambo / Foderingham
RWB - Baldock / Bogle
CB - Bash / Egan / JOC / Robinson
LWB- Lowe / Stevens / RND
Midfield - Berge / Norwood / Fleck / Osborn
CF - Brewster / Didzy / McB / Sharp / Burke

I'd transfer List
Moore, Mousset, Freeman

Happy to release these players who are out of contract
Rodwell, Jags , Lunny, Bryan

I imagine we'll sell or loan out 4 or 5 of the 23 and therefore need to bring in 3 or 4 for a 22 man squad plus a few kids on the fringe. It looks a pretty decent Championship squad to me, with decent competition for most positions. Midfield is where the work is needed

GK, Ramsdale, Foderingham
D - Baldock, Bogle, JOC, Egan, Basham, RND, Lowe, Stevens
M - Fleck, Norwood, Berge, Osborn
F - McGoldrick, Brewster, Sharp, McBurnie, Burke

Can see Bogle and Berge leaving, hopefully there isn't an exodus.

Would any one take ampadou for another. Year loan ?

I think next season we need to use the loan market much better than we have ...
