So we're not going up are we?

i'd prefer to play mid table outfits with nothing to play for.. 5 wins and we're up.

Funnily enough, after Chesterfield we have successive games against mid table outfits - Hartlepool and Bournemouth, who are two of the small number of clubs with nothing to play for.

but logic dictates the lowest odds are those thatll take 2nd, the only one I found that seperated the odds we had moved in as favourites

But isn't all this just a reflection of the lague table. I think we are delduing ourself if we think the bookies, when making their odds at his stage of the season, do an in depth analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of each of the promotion contenders. They just look at the league table and think, Sheffield United, 2 points ahead with 8 games to go = favourites.

depends , if you choose to ignore the performance at notts county , or the fact weve took 7 points from 9 from 3 difficult away games
Its a about bare results and the performance level , which with macca back has gone up

I'm not ignoring them, but I don't think the bookies look in that much detail. If, after the next round of games Wednesday are (God forbid) a point ahead of us in 2nd, I guarantee they will then be the bookies' favourites.

Bookies don't analyse teams or form. They just respond to how much money is placed on an outcome. It'd be a gamble against the odds if, after more than 30 games played and less than 10 games to play you were to bet against a team in 2nd place. That's clearly where the money is being placed.

All of this speculation on "favourite" is b******s. Why wouldn't we beat all of those teams in the run in that are below us in the table?
