What will our players reaction be to that for the Reading game?
Will it be "Well if he thinks it's over , then why bother".
Or will it be "we'll fucking show him" and put the effort in to reach the play-offs?

Monday morning training will be very interesting. Will it be a frosty atmosphere or what?
Laughs at a premium i would imagine. Interesting few days ahead.

Once had a teacher in primary school that just looked at our misbehaving class and went into the reading room.

The reaction was "shit, she's gone, is she going to come back and bollock us? We'd better behave".

Think that was what Wilder was going for.

It's up to the players not to disappoint him.

I'd imagine it'll be, 'OK fuck Friday is behind us, we all want our Premiership bonus', don't let it happen again. Let's get cracking.'

Was the interview the other night this seasons 'beers on the bus'?
There would be no beers on the bus on Friday the players have got to show that Wilder was wrong ,up to them now to get there finger out.As Wilder said in his interview ,any player not on the same page , as him will be gone,it's all about ambition and the players have to show they have as much as Wilder ,.He's driven and wants driven players

The only problem was he basically said they were all shit. (Which they were give or take) except leon and billy (who were also poor in my opinion) how will the others react to that.

The players already know that they let themselves down on Friday and I can't see that they're gonna have the attitude of season over, why should we bother!!. They'll want to try and get a win on Tuesday and show wilder that they're still committed to the cause!. If they don't then they know that wilder won't want them around and will be looking for employment elsewhere!!. UTB

Another day another game, we got away with it on Friday. Wilder will not tolerate any more performances like that one. I think he is spelling it out that they are in the last chance saloon anyone showing lack of effort and desire will be gone in the summer.

Wilder forgot to add to his comment

“keep playing with that effort and skill level” then..... we may as well give up because we’ve no chance of the playoffs.

He’s leaving the ball in the players court, told them the home truth..,,then he’ll stand back to see if there’s a reaction. It’s not really up to Wilder to keep motivating the players..the motivation needs to come from within.

Chris just said how the majority of fans were feeling weather we agree or not with his comments. After all he’s one of our own and was hurting like most of us with such an inept performance.

He did rather sound as if he'd given up, to be fair. Sometimes, it might be better to draw a deep breath, bite yer lip, and give it the Adkins (lite).

One thing lots of us love about CW is his immediacy in interviews, as a supporter. I do wonder if it's something he needs to work on, though. There are lots of ways you can be straight, to camera or mic, after a performance like Friday's. I'm not sure the words he chose were the best, in this instance.

Tuesday’s game will be interesting, but I expect a positive reaction.

it’s a bit different the Blades manager calling the players out to say Mourinho doing it. Because it won’t be super analysed for the next month on every football show ever broadcast. Plus the key players aren’t drawing £25M plus a year where they can say you know what “fuck off, I am a business myself”.

A harsh pull your fucking socks up, which no one will disagree with. The instruction from me would be all watch the game back Sunday and I’ll see you Monday. No need to tell anyone how shit it was and then everyone can carry on.

Monday morning training? I hope they were in this morning.

I think one of the problems that any Manager has is following up an almighty dressing room bollocking with a press interview. The interview has got to somehow mirror what was said or otherwise it can lose it's effect. Having said that, for me he went a little too far.

I think Wilder is doing two things. Clough or Adkins didn't earn the right to say what he said as strongly as he said it. First thing he was doing was to empathise with the fans (he has the right to do this as he's one of us) secondly it was about as strong a warning as can be dished out that shit effort and lacklustre performance really piss him off. The players already here prior to January already knew this but have had a massive re-establishment of that and the new lads are under no illusion that it is not acceptable. I know he said he doesn't care but he cares deeply.

Some things are bothering me about the performance, why were so many players so shit? People are singling out Leonard but JOC hardly ever got up the pitch apart from set pieces, Bash was ineffective, Fleck's decision making was the worst I've seen from him this season, Evans seemed to think that all players were on the same team and passed to the nearest one, Baldock seemed to be trying impossible passes even though a simple pass inside was available Stevens was just very poor. So why were they all so bad? Why would the whole team play so poorly? Was it just the team selection? Considering JOC and Stevens, Bash and Baldock have played together for most games this season why were they not remotely in sync? It is very perplexing I don't know why it was so bad when they can string stuff together against Leicester and Leeds. They can't all be badly motivated at the same time, surely.

How many of the current team would still be here and expect to play in August if we got promoted to the Prem this season, just one Brooks.

So do the players have the motivation to get promoted to a place where they know they wont play, because they will be deemed not good enough.

Even if they aren't good enough Wilder couldn't buy an entire new team, so the better players would have to stay regardless. Also they would have promotion to prem on their CV so if they leave they get a decent deal elsewhere, if they were surplus to requirements, and they get a promotion bonus if they go up. So there should be no institutional why they are not motivated.

It’s obviously stayed with you for some time.

Especially the ones who played such an important part in getting us to where we are, only to find themselves chucked on the shitheap like Jake Wright and to a lesser extent Mark Duffy.

Pinchy kept telling me how much better Stearman is than the former . Mmmmm, when are we going to see the evidence of that, please ?
