Not for years it seems have i had so much fun at league game. Seemed we collectively had no pressure and the players got the crowd going with some (if not spectacular) competent and confident football.
I thought we were the better team and stopped them playing. Paynter had his best game yet for us, holding the ball up well and bringing in other players. Davies never stopped running and whilst everyone is raving about Dimaio (Rightly so), Davies has been as good as Brayford in the games he has played for us.
I'm not going through the lot but they were all great in their commitment.
The banter with Rovrum fans was great and the clubs seem to have a decent respect throughout. The 'handball' micky takes and 'we're playing the kids' was fantastic. its also good to pull Rovrum back a bit so they don't get above themselves.
Steve Evans only sour grapes. Just come out and tell it how it was WE WERE BETTER THAN YOU!
Lot of talk about new songs so I just look forward to singing 'Perfect Day' when 'lou' Reed scores and 'Sitting on the dock of the bay' when Otis does.
Wemberlee Wemberlee we're the famous Sheff Utd and we're gonna Wemberlee.
Safe journey everyone.

I.

Very impressed with Paynter and his hold up play and running the channels today was betteer than what we have seen from Porter. It probably helped that he had someone alongside him.

As for Davies, must be worth a contract for next season

With five games to go, we are STILL mathematically in with a play off shout. Look back to November and I said, we'd go down. I couldn't see us clawing anything back at all, no way would the players find any kind of confidence to fight their way out. Absolutely astounding season all round. I don't think we will make the play offs, it's just incredible we could ever have been - and still technically are - in with a shout. Oh yes and that other competition we are still in....

It's been brilliant, like a good Prog Rock album with such contrasts and light and shade.

Before Christmas I was saying that this was the worst squad I'd seen at the Lane since the useless bunch that took us down to the 4th in 1981, and yet since Villa I've seen them transformed into one that is, if not the best, at least one of the most colourful and full of character.

Even before we beat Charlton I was saying that this Cup run was up there with the three Semi-Final runs I've witnessed, but then our subsequent progress to the last four in the competition easily put it to the top of the list.

I can safely say I have never looked forward to any game of football more than this coming Sunday's appointment, and that out of the 1000-or-so I've probably attended down the decades.

Had Davis as my MOM but could have been any number of them. Always impressed by the shift Davis puts in

this one statement jumped out at me, how true it is for years we have had no real stand out characters in the blades squad, almost manufactured with no individuals no stand outs, now we seem to have a squad full of unique players, individuals all playing for each other and how magnificent and refreshing it is to see.
Long may it continue because it seems to have rekindled many blades fans love and much maligned belief in our beloved Blades.
win, lose or draw on sunday I personally, though it sounds strange saying so, given its "only" league one football, think this has been a fantastic season and cannot thank Nigel Clough enough for giving MY Blades a little bit of pride back and even allowing blades fans to look to the future with optimism for a pleasant change.

So true. I've bemoaned the fact there haven't been many "heroes" in recent years. I had almost lost hope that no one could arrest our decline.

Cloughie picks players very carefully that will fit into the team ethic but they aren't robots and he looks for positive personality traits. A friend of mine, who is a Wednesdayite by the way, got some information on how he now has an absolute iron grip on discipline right the way through the club. It isn't some moronic draconian system but some rules by which everyone abides and you'll know about it if you don't. I think it's no surprise the number of people who went out on loan from January onwards. Some were genuine loans to get games but some will never return.

I don't expect we'll get a positive result on Sunday but I'm confident the side will "turn up" and give it a damn good go.
