So Annoyed...

I actually agree with Tufty re the game analysis. We played some good stuff today and had decent chances but if you don't take them then this is what happens. Hr made the changes with Monday in mind, as he explained in the interview and the recent injury that Baldock has had. It didn't come off and shows that we need two or three players. Today wasn't as bad as some are saying on here. If Baldock's shot against the post goes in, we'd have probably gone onto win it! Not the end of the world guys, Bolton did well and took their chance, but I know which team I would rather watch, and have, and its not their's.

shame an amazing 2017 ends on such sour note, for me its 1 of worst matches ive personally watched under wilder only southend 18mths ago is close. we outmuscled physically, our passing was sloppy either its was easily intercepted or hit out of play, we were generally awful in possession Carruthers took the biscuit 10mins gave ball away 4 times & similar to watching Van Barneveld in darts last night so frustrating that in the brief bright bits where we managed to get into a good position, we either overplayed or wasted it. 1 of the only good things was how wilder noticed within half an hour. how basham was getting ripped apart on that right side time after time, shown clear as day by the goal where basham gets turned far too easily & cant get back

1 of most irritating things was that Bolton offered very little offensively & capitalised on their opportunity. disappointingly it was enough. because we couldve been there all night & not scored. if im being harsh that was the 1st time this season i can't grumble at losing, because at least every home match to this point we may have lost or drawn like norwich or bristol city but at least we were better team or unlucky. i hope this is a wake up call because we will get beaten by Wednesday playing like that

Disagree about the system. We had no attacking outlet down the right hand side because chose not to play an out and out wing back. Therefore there was no outlet for our midfielders and they got shut down easily.

Thought Lundstram had a poor game but actually thought Stearman played well

It was a change of personnel rather than change of system.

Basham was playing wing back, just his attributes are different to Baldock. I think Basham shows the same attacking intent but struggles against out and out pace and if he is far up the pitch can’t track runners from midfield. He simply can’t cover as much ground. CCV was also getting some hammer from Madine.

Bringing on Baldock was as much to combat their pacey wide man who was murdering us more than an offensive change. Hull had some joy down the left employing a similar tactic in the first half at Bramall Lane.

Stearman slows play down, looks laboured and uncomfortable on the ball. He also gets outmuscled and Madine was having a field day with him, particularly in the first half.

What a bunch of wetwipes. Not the team ,the lightweights on this thread who know better than Wilder ,talk about fair weather :(

Glad someone said it. Huge overrreaction on here.

Poorest home performance of the season, but still had enough chances to win by a couple of goals. Rotating a couple of players backfires but it happens....

We had the chances to win no doubt about that. It’s frustrating but it will happen. We just lacked a bit of quality to unpick their defence and quality up top to take the chances. It will happen again before the end of the season. It’s the Championship.

Earlier I made the mistake of getting angry and looking for people/things to blame, it's an easy mistake to make. Now I've calmed down a bit I think we're going to have to take these sort of games on the chin. Let's hope we can learn from the experience and move on

Basham ain't a wing back though. He's not got the pace or the trickery. Unless Baldock had an injury, there's only one conceivable reason for picking Basham ahead of Baldock today and that's to combat Boltons physicality. If so then that flies opposite to how Wilder has bee setting his teams up since he came here, especially at home

No we didnt. They set up negative and we've not managed to break through. Same against Norwich and same against the likes of Bury and Walsall last season.

They came for a draw. Once they got their goal it was always gonna be horrible.

Cant agree with they came for a draw. I felt they were the much better side first 30 minutes. I feel too many fans just fall into stereotypes when analysing games. They played some decent stuff too start the game and competed well. They played very high up the field and did not have the set up of a team playing for a draw. They had numerous attacks, corners and half chances before they scored. After this they did defend but no way did they come set up for a draw. Credit to Parkinson. Different approach to Sunderland. If teams attack us and have a go we struggle. If they sit back, we can play it around and wear them down.

Some over reactions on here tonight. Regarding team selection Wilder clearly did not want to risk Baldock and Donaldson playing 2 games in 3 days particularly with Freeman, Brooks and Evans currently out. Credit to Bolton they took the game to us early on and defended well when they got the lead. Having said that we created enough chances and opportunities to win the game comfortably despite not playing that well. This was down to bad finishing, poor decision making and the ball not quite falling for us on certain occasions. I can understand fans been frustrated as it is an opportunity not taken to gain some ground on the teams above but annoyed and angry come on!

Who has decided Stearman is a ball playing centre half?
I used to love it when teams came to the Lane and started fucking about playing it across the back because it meant they were going to get fucked up.
Now we are one of those teams because somebody has decided Stearman is good on the ball. He's not good on the ball. He's not a United kind of player and I don't understand why he's here. He should be playing tennis in the home counties.
Also, he fucking cheated to get Madine (also a cunt) booked. He played the referee to pretend he was being fouled. I was watching him closely and he fucking cheated and it boiled my piss.
Lundstram also had a bad day and a lot of the lads looked like they had the wrong boots on today.

They let Stearman have it and sat off. He had no choice but to bring it out. Noone has decided he is good on the ball. Quite the opposite really. Teams will let him have it and sag off. They pressed our wing backs and tried to make us go through the centre but when Duffy got it they harried him out of it. Teams know if they stop the overload and mark Duffy; we will struggle to create much other than scraps off Clarke.

I watched QPR and Millwall do the same. They let our weaker ball players in defence have it and sit deep. We dont have the pace to get over a defence so have to play through or round.

As for Stearman not being United kind of player. What does that mean? Hevis here as Wilder signed him and thinks he will be a good addition. He has been fine the last few weeks or since the pen at Villa. Far better than O'Connell, Basham and Stevens. If Basham and O Connell are not half asleep we do not lose today. Both just left their man completely.

This notion that if Jake Wright plays instead of Stearman we will suddenly turn it all around is well widw of the mark I feel.

Must admit when the Sunderland game finished I did think two six-footers in midfield, Bash and Lunny, and two up top was exactly what was needed vs Bolton.

Disappointed when I saw the changes though am not party to the medical advice Chris receives.

It makes Derby a huge six pointer.

Win today and we could be looking at clawing within a point of 2nd. Could be 10 points off by Monday.

Chris has done great but it’s clear he lacks options to change the team due to form or during games.

Help needed in Jan.
