None of the trialists will stay and Camera offered a deal which cheap as chips thought was fair but Camera's agent didn't.

Looks like our gert might get a game after all.

Make that agent's.

One of the other lads agent decided he wanted more money too, whilst the player was quite happy with the deal.

I assume this was Pancrate.

Like I have already said agents are utter cocks. And I believe if the player's are happy themselves then they should turn round to the agents and tell them to get fucked. I hope Blackie put it like that to him too.

I'm sorry about being baltant with it but I'm utterly fed up with agents ruining the sport now.

To be fair wage structures will be decided at the highest level within the club.

If anyone thinks they should be higher than what they are perhaps they should buy the club and make it happen.

Otherwise it's McCabes decision.

:)

These agent are two hats SF..... just beneath Sky for the downward spiral.

What does a player do he trusts his agent to get the best deal.Camara's agents will have told him that they can get a better deal with another club, he believes them.

It's got him knowhere listening to them this season so far as it Toronto??

Its a shame, from what foxy has said in other thread it seemed like both him and Pancrate wanted to sign. Mind you if they wanted it that much they have told the agents to shut up.

Well doesnt look good for us really.

Could barely sign our main targets in August and now we are struggling to get free transfers. True agents are pricks but we seem to be feeling the brunt of agents lately and losing out on alot of players.

ABSOLUCKINFLUTELY!!!!! Should ban the buggers and let football become a SPORT again.

Honestly, im not bothered one bit whether these guys have signed or not.....the fact is the players we get on trial have been let go by there previous clubs, usually for various reasons. They are usually either not good enough, too greedy, have poor attitude or have fallen fowl of the manager.

Obviously some young players slip through the net and they deserve their chance as trialists, but honestly....Henri Camara must have had more clubs than Tiger Woods this summer. None have taken him. Leave him and his greedy agentS to go play in dubai or america or some other none descript league. He'll probably go to Notts County!

Keep these players far, far, far away from the Beautiful Red and White!

When we're considering signing players like this we really are scraping the bottom of a barrel!

Yep.

Ashame really as in the past especially under Warnock we managed to pick up a couple of decent freebies.

Cant believe how cocky some free transfers have been lately *cough* Lita. I mean like you have just said they have surely been deemed not good enough by their previous club. Although them and their dickhead agents think they are worth the same if not more than they would be if they were under contract at a club. Anyway they cant be doing that bad then if they are in that good of a position to turn down a good offer.

Camara must be pissed off with his agents if he actually wants to play football again. They are meant to be working to get him a deal not alienate him from getting one. Its about time agents got kicked out of football and let the PFA deal with players negotiating a new contract and sorting the legal work.

I'm just glad we have the Strength and Balls not to be held to ransom by agents.
a vey good thing IMO that we can turn round and say well we think he's worth this much, if you don't like it naff off.

Ultimatly it is their loss, they have rejected a well paid job whilst out of work, footballers out of work soon go stale and have a short shelf life. Nearly two months into the season and an unemployed prima donna thinks he can hold a club to ransom, well done blades.

Very disappointing. I find it hard to believe that these players are happy to go through the hassle of a trial but I'm surprised that there is no discussion between agent and club before the trial starts ie 'if he impresses please note that we will not go beyond 10k a week - does he still want the trial.' Agent says, 'no thanks, no point him coming for trial.'

Is this way to simplistic a version of what could happen to avoid this situation? Could terms be agreed in principle before a trial? I suppose his agent would thne ring round other clubs.

Micalijo, I'm afraid that's far too sensible a suggestion!

Common sense and professional football don't often go hand in hand.

Agents stink. I hope that these players that have turned us down due to the agents wanting more than they are worth, don't find a club.
I'd love for Camara to come knocking on KB's door begging for a job and KB giving him a big fuck off tablet.
Go with Kyel and Little till January and then see who's available.

Really frustrating this one. Usually I take it with a pinch of salt when SUFC blame all their transfer failings on agents but Blackwell did sound genuinely pissed off. I know United are right to stick to their principles and tell him to bollocks but it doesn't help us on the pitch does it?

Blackwell seems reluctant to play Evans up front for whatever reason and even if he did, we don't really have a suitable partner for him with Ward injured.

Big week for Ched this, he will probably get two starts and needs to show us he's up for it, not to mention the ability we paid £3M for. I think he'll come good but it's up to the rest of the team to give him the chances, not something we've been good at in recent times.

2 starts in what position though? I don't think he's suited to the withdrawn striker role he's been asked to play more often than not.

All a bit 6 of one and half a dozen of the other isn't it...what if the conversation went like this....Blackwell 'alright Henri, you look ok in training we'll offer you a pay as you play deal at 500 quid a match'....agent...'no chance I can get him more at peterborough'...Blackwell....'sorry thats the best I can do'....agent....'ok see you'.....Blackwell then blames the agent for scuppering the deal.....

We've no idea how much he turned down and remember Lucas Neill after rejecting a number of clubs and missing part of the season got a 40k a week deal at Everton thereby proving his agent right.

If it's what I think it is, I wonder how long Blackwell will stand for it.

and my point is proven by Blackwell in today's Star where he states 'a move for a Costa Rican similarly fell through...before he signed for Bristol City'!!!!!

the agent rejects our deal and gets his man a better deal at Bristol City, thereby doing better for his client, and suggesting we're trying to get these free agents on cheap deals...if they won't play ball whose fault is it...the agents or ours?

True, see my points on the dropping Hendo thread.

I would hope we'll start with Cotts and Reid wide tonight and more of a standard 4-4-2 which should suit him more. You never know with KB though, he's just as likely to start with a midfield of Little, Monty, Harper and Squinny !

Not sure it's a case of whose "fault" it is, but rather just how many restrictions we have on the purse strings. I'd say the issue is with us though. 100%. And (in case anyone doesn't know) the Costa Rican you refer to is Alvaro Saborio. The board wouldn't grant Blackwell with £300k to sign him and apparently Blackie was rather pissed off about it (hence my post 30 seconds before yours ;)).

Christ :(

that's not surprising given how much money has come in on transfers in the last 12 months.

No proof of course, but all of this tends to suggest that United are making wage offers on the low side to everyone they are talking to. If so, it's no surprise agents won't deal with them.

any chance of some evidence to back this up TA ?

In the case of the Costa Rican he's pretty much spot on (though I'm not really evidence :D).

I'm not sure it was totally dead when he went to Brizzle, but our concerns probably didn't help our chances once anyone else acted quickly.
