Do people think the fan pressure on Sky will continue this year, that the chanting will continue?

My thoughts are that it will and that's what I'd hope for. The product sky provide now is completely off standard, vastly overpriced and doesn't consider the individual customer, and don't get me started on kick off times.

They go unchallenged otherwise to charge what they want and kick off when they want, safe in the knowledge that there's no real considerable challenge to them in the market from elsewhere.

We will be moved less because of Sky this year. We'll get £170 million minimum from them.

Is it perfect? No. There should either be a cut off for moving games that allows cheap train travel and hotel refunds etc or discounts towards trains/hotels. Sky money has already made clubs cap away tickets at £30 due to sensible organised fan pressure.

Sky isn't the problem. The Premier League is as they allow the TV channels to do what they want... given that 3pm games on a saturday aren't allowed.

Amazon, BT sport and whoever else is showing games and charging for it creates a ridiculously expensive package for supporters.

How can it cost more to watch fewer games on TV than the price of a season ticket

Some of you are aware I work for BFBS and Sky TV provide a number of their TV channels (including the sport) to the British Military overseas to them for free. They don't make a big song and dance about it, they just do a good thing. I completely understand the larger argument but just feel we should have all the facts, they aren't the evil empire some consider them to be.

Also, just because something causes more joy than despair, doesn't mean it can't/shouldn't be asked to stop causing the despair it does if possible.

I'm not sure that blaming Sky makes any sense. It's like blaming Ford for the fact that there is less horse shit around than there used to be.

The technology leap has enabled live TV sport at this level and if it wasn't Sky it would be Amazon, Microsoft, BT etc. etc.

I agree actually. At £20 a month (for the Sky Sports HD package) and I could have watched every game in the cricket World Cup. The Open is currently on and however many live games there are this season across the EPL and EFL. Wonder what it would cost to attend all of that.

That said, I am looking forward to us (potentially) not being such a big draw this season so most games are Sat 3:00, which is undoubtedly the best kick off time.

It’s not as shit this season because we are guaranteed £12m for up to 10 games and then a further £1.2m per game over 10. Whereas last season, disruption to travelling fans only earned their clubs £10k ! Laughable amount really

Personally I think as football fans we’ve never had it any better! Attendance levels are at a high and TV money coming into the game is at a high. It doesn’t suggest there are any issues to me.

Some people just love to get misty eyed about the good old days when in reality it wasn’t as good. Imagine going back to the pre Sky days with no football and only four channels, no thanks! Watch some crap like the Eastender omnibus or a football match on a Sunday? Hmmmmmm tough choice.

A lot saying we're glad of the money we're getting but the thing is, if there was no Sky, nobody would get it and there would be more parity. I think most of us agree that now it's a case of the rich get richer and the poor are actually struggling to survive or bridge the gap.

I honestly think the money being thrown around now is obscene. Even the likes of West Ham and Bournemouth can afford to be throwing about vast sums of money for fairly mediocre players.

Apart from Leicester winning the league in 2016, the odds are that there are 5 or 6 clubs who can realistically win the League. City thrashed Watford 6-0 in the Cup Final, it's already getting boring. We have now arrived in the Aladdin's cave, but even the most optimistic fan knows that despite us breaking our record fee paid about 3 times this summer, we are still odds on to be relegated.

Meanwhile the number of clubs who have gone bust or have crippling debts has escalated.

It won't be long until there's a European Super League with a closed shop so the rest can't get a look in and with games played in Asia to gain the widest audience. The rest will live on scraps and that will be the death of the majority of clubs.
