I am continually surprised at how well Derby are predicted to do. Still think it could go titties up for them with young Franky at the helm, although by a accounts they have looked good pre season.

Still not overly convinced by Rowett either. He may have a tremendous squad at this level but they will have to adapt to his style, which isn't pretty.

Think we'll brush the playoffs again and finish 8-9th.

Pigs will struggle at times but not be in any real danger over the whole season, 15th tops unless they freshen up that squad.

This guy is more of a weirdo than me!

Not possible.

I think most fans are over -optimistic about their own team's chances (eg the pig said nobody said they'd finish 24th) but this doesn't matter if everyone equally over eggs it.

It's interesting to hear neutrals on 5Live and TalkBloke demonstrating their lack of knowledge about the 'lower leagues'. They know the Prem and thus anyone down from there must be good, hence Stoke seem to be most people's favourites. Fair enough that they haven't really lost their key players and have recruited well, but I think we all know it won't be the cakewalk some are suggesting.

DirtyLeeds are the one i just can't predict. A fabulous manager rated by everyone (Pep puts all his success down to the guy), but with no experience in England. They've spent money seemingly well and with a good start could definitely compete for an automatic place. Alternatively their new manager over complicates things, their system doesn't work Saturday/Tuesday and they could easily finish around 18th.

Fat Frank is another one the media love. He was a great player so obviously he must be a great manager....
Uncle Mel is not the most patient owner in the league and they haven't improved an overpaid bloated squad very much. Again, easily top 6 or bottom half for me.

It's going to be an interesting year.....

BTW, I see us around 7th - 10th.

But their delusion will carry them through and they will just scrape finishing top of the league. It's amazing when you read some of their comments - I am really astonished of how they actually see themselves. I can only assume that they think they are still in the prem back in the 90's when they did have a decent side. The side they have now is full of over paid, over priced and over rated players - but they are still going up

You are right about good/great players not. Making good managers coco, arguably England's finest from 66,big jack was probably the best followed by Alan ball? Bobby Charlton, moore, Hurst, Peters, banks, greaves all hopeless mangers, fergie nd wenger, average players brilliant managers, now who does that remind me of

It’s probably the hardest league to predict. There isn’t really a stand out favourite but historically at least one relegated club goes back up (last season was an exception) so you’d expect one of them. All three have question marks and with Swansea and West Brom having new, inexperienced managers, you’d probably go for Stoke by default.

As for the rest, who knows? Villa seem to have stabilised but with new owners who may ditch Bruce if they get off to a bad start. Leeds and Derby look good on paper but seem to persistently mess up, same could be said for Forest. Will Pulis’s dinosaur football still be effective?

Did anyone predict Cardiff to go up last season? There’s often a club that surprises everyone. Could it be us? Brentford? Wigan even? You could argue almost everyone bar Reading, Rotherham and Bolton are in the mix.

It’s always hard to predict, especially before the window closes. Must be difficult to spend a couple of hours basically saying ‘fuck knows’.

Wednesday relegation fodder, I like it.

I have a feeling (nothing more) that Blackburn will do well.
My gut feeling is Wigan. They reminded me of us last season, similar style of play and with a lot of players who look like they could step up. But Blackburn are doing business and, like Wigan, will have momentum. I certainly wouldn’t rule them out. I’m predicting a very tight league where back to back wins will lift a club up several places (and conversely, back to back defeats will be costly). It’s going to be interesting.

Warnock......?

Replies only from those with a sense of humour please.
Nothing wrong with chucking warnie in snoots, may not be up there with fergie and wenger but could either of them have achieved what warnock has? Doubt it, he doesn't help himself I know but his record for what he has achieved and on the money he has been given he should be right up there..you did say those with a sense of humour, didn't you.

Agree entirely, I'm his biggest fan. Only threw that caveat in to stop the usual suspects having strokes and posting photoshopped images of his nose and stuff.

Cardiff beat Bodmin Town 1- 11 in a friendly, I hope Warnock has a good season in the PL, he deserves it.

GLTTL.

It will be nice to see Derby fail in the final run in again.

Dear Snooty,

Me, I’ve tried to get on with him, me, but it won’t work. We’re just completely incompatible. We simply don’t function on the same level, us.

Everytime we’ve tried to make it work he’s either mysteriously disappeared or I’ve dumped him. I’ll give him one more try, me, but I fear we’ll just drift apart.

Yours,

Premier League.
xx

Reading will be relegated if relying on Marc Mcnulty.;)
Paul Clement managed to keep them up but they were on a downward spiral and if the season was any longer they would have gone down. Marc McNulty has come in but he's a finisher and Reading do not create many chances.

Not close to my predictions.

Brentford will be nowhere near this season.
Leeds will be up there, and I expect us to catch a few out again too.
Preston?? WTF...overachieved and will be mid table.
Leeds, Boro, Stoke, Villa, United, Forest top 6.
I don’t expect any runaway leaders this season

Thanks for this Royboy.

Without even opening up the link I thought to me sen 'they will have Utd down as tenth' and there will be some lazy journalism with the other positions and clubs. I was right on both counts.

In fairness, I would say it is nigh on impossible to do this until the transfer window has closed.

TBF the NTT20 guys who did those predictions know their stuff. Certainly can't accuse them of lazy journalism - WBA and Swansea 11 + 12, Rotherham to stay up, Brentford in 3rd - I dont think those calls get made by people looking at it with no knowledge of the EFL.

The podcast is excellent and they go into good detail on why theyve made those predictions. They're also positive in general about us and Wilder's style.

Nobody can complain with predicting 10th for us. As it stands that is completely fair.

But it makes grim reading for the Owls...
If that prediction be true, then in spite of the fortune invested in wages and transfer fees Wednesday would actually finish lower than they did under Gray with a team which cost two groats.
Black mark, Chansiri, black mark.

The Sportsman has this effort.
Steve Chambers must be a Baggie or a Wendy as he has WBA being champs and the Blades getting relegated :D
