For what was, by far, our best game there - our 5-3 Semi Final defeat against Hull City. I know a lot don't like the stadium, but for me it still has an aura about it, and I was hopeful about getting there this season if we defeated Arsenal in the cup.
I will always remember the happiest of half times, thinking we were 45 minutes away from the Cup Final. Sadly it wasn't to be, but for all his faults, I will be grateful to Nigel Clough for this Cup run.

Always remember the Harry Maguire shot late on that I think would have made it 4-4 IF it had gone in

Strangely enough, i said at the time and still feel today, the 'Happy Half-time' was a factor in the not so happy 2nd.
i left my mates with their pints and re-entered the stadium as the 2nd half was kicking off. There was no atmosphere at the Blades end which was half empty due to Blades fans still celebrating. I remember thinking this wasn't good & the crowd at that moment was critical to keep momentum going. Hull by contrast hit the ground running & their fans started to believe & before Blades had took their seats had equalised.

The rest is History. Sometimes I hate being right!!!
 
The two times I went, hudersfield and Burnley we were disappointed to be there. We wernt that team that snuck in with momentum. We were disappointed not to be automatic. The nothingness of the performances matched the feeling.

At the start of the 2nd half some may have been celebrating, the rest of us were still in the bogs wading through piss a foot deep
 
Lasting memory from that game was the standing ovation for the final goal. I’ve never seen or heard of the opposition fans, almost to a man, spontaneously rise from their seats and acknowledge a great game in such a way.
I remembering getting back home and being surprised it wasn’t even mentioned. Are there any clips or isn’t it as clear as it felt from within the ground?

I just remember vividly cos I didn't have a drink but rest of me mates & others (obviously) did. I went back in early (or so i thought) but they were already kicking off. As i remember there was No (or very subdued) Greasy Chip butty at kick off & you could here their fans getting behind the team straight away as they were losing. Strange what you remember thinking but straight away my thoughts were 'this aint good'. I could still hear Blades inside the bar area behind me.
 



6 years ago today, Wembley, and I got something to remember the day by, so thanks to the copper on the horse, that thought I should sample his baton, simply because i stood between the families on the green, and the 20 or so Hull fans that thought kicking off with us would be a good idea! Only have bad memories of that day, it was truly awful.

Sat up in the heavens in the shade with nobody around us completely detached from the atmosphere.

Plus I'd been drinking all day and had to sit there for two hours sobering up.

By the end I was just pissed off that we'd collapsed so easily in the second half and blown the easiest chance we'll ever get of reaching an FA Cup Final.

Club Wembley is worth the extra money in my eyes, we always sit in it, you'll have to try it when we play in the FA CUP final!

Wembley is just shit.

When we scored there was no noise, the Blades fans down below us seemed to be in a different post code.

It was like when you're sat on the Kop and the away team score and you get that muffled cheer reaching your ears a few seconds after the ball has hit the net.

Probably our own fault for buying the cheapest tickets again but might as well have been sat at home watching it on TV.
 
We sat on the halfway line, I thought we celebrated quite well, we definitely did!
Probably cos you were sat in the gods as you say?

The Burnley game was worse, we never even turned up, we would've been better playing the u18s that day!
 
Fantastic Stadium, and when Scooges goal went in I though at last, we are gonna do it ............ went nuts :)

I'm sure Paul Walker on Radio Sheffield remarked that he'd never seen (or heard) anything quite like that.

We'd given our all, Hull got the all important 5th goal and we all stood in unison, no prompting to acknowledge our team. Blades at their best.

I'm sure there's a clip somewhere that shows the Hull chairman start to applaud the goal looking towards the Hull end where the goal was scored but then his attention is averted to the Blades end where most of the noise was coming from.

Some real negative comments on here. I thought we did well for a third division club.
