The clock strikes thirteen
Real lift winning last night but Christmas can be notorious for throwing up odd results (e.g. 3-0 away defeat at Oxford under Bassett); what has far more bearing in the long run are the games against fellow top teams.
Go back to 2011/12 and the points dropped against CAFC/SWFC; critical, we didn't beat any of them (3rd).
2005/06 Didn't beat Reading and they won the league but did ok against Leeds and Watford (2nd).
1989/90 Last minute equaliser against Newcastle from Deano was massive (2nd).
1988/89 Unbeaten against Wolves and Vale, especially 3-3 critical (2nd).
So far this year one loss/one draw against BWFC/SUFC and whilst yes the top 3 could change, the chances are at this stage the two home games against them will be the most critical of all.
Point is, whatever happens over the holiday period, there are more influential games to come; so nothing decided good or bad. UTB.
