Missed the game due to a cricket match. My mates description of the incident involved ‘you could hear the crack’ like Webster’s. Anyone who went to his Testimonial match will have seen that he probably never played foot again.I was going to mention that but couldn't remember the details. In contrast to now, in the 80s few players came up from the juniors, so it was refreshing that the Smith brothers were getting into the side. A pity that Brian's career ended so soon.
October 1976 at Charlton. Derek Hales broke Flynn's leg. Eddie Colquhoun was furious with Hales and went straight to him after the match pointing at him and shouting "I will see you at Bramall Lane". Hales moved to Derby County some weeks later
It was like a scrap between Jeff Lynne from ELO and Luke Kelly from the Dubliners.battle of the beards
i always remember because beards were so out of fashion at the time

Didn't Santos once make an awful challenge on a Blades player before he joined us, it may have been Shaun Derry.Santos was a shocker from that dirty bastard Johnson. Made up for it good style mind

Brian Smith's injury was at home to Preston on 8 April 1989, the Saturday before the Hillborough disaster. We were drawing 0-0 but scored 3 late goals and then Stan the Man scored an own goal to make it 3-1. Brian had been playing really well prior to that.I was going to mention that but couldn't remember the details. If there is any positive to take then it's that we aren't far from January whereas Hulses leg break came after the deadline.
Yes Santos got sent off in our 3-1 win at Tranmere in Sept 1999Didn't Santos once make an awful challenge on a Blades player before he joined us, it may have been Shaun Derry.
We spent the whole window previously chasing nugent and ended up with Luton fucking shelton
Stancliffe’s Own goal in that game is one of the best I’ve ever seen.Brian Smith's injury was at home to Preston on 8 April 1989, the Saturday before the Hillborough disaster.
