No mention of Hodgy's broken thumb? The best chance in my lifetime of us being champions, and it all went wrong with one injury and a stingy Board's failure to replace him.

Missed the game due to a cricket match. My mates description of the incident involved ‘you could hear the crack’ like Webster’s. Anyone who went to his Testimonial match will have seen that he probably never played foot again.
 
I will never forget ainsworths tackle on whitehouse. Everyone instantly knew that it was bad. I was there and ainsworth never showed any kind sympathy if my memory serves me well?. I will never forgive him and will never like him. Utb

I remember Hales going back to Charlton and having an on-field punch-up with his team mate Mick Flanagan.

Brian Smith's injury was at home to Preston on 8 April 1989, the Saturday before the Hillborough disaster. We were drawing 0-0 but scored 3 late goals and then Stan the Man scored an own goal to make it 3-1. Brian had been playing really well prior to that.

Back in sunny Jamaica, his parents were probably looking for exotic names to give their son. Of course, what's "exotic" differs by culture, and while Luton might sound posh from a Jamaican perspective...

Stancliffe’s Own goal in that game is one of the best I’ve ever seen.

A late run across the box to meet the cross with a diving header into the bottom corner.

We applauded it on the kop as the finish was that good.
 
Ever since I first went to the Lane in 1971,I've seen many united players play like they were carrying a serious injury.....
