Perhaps the most important appointment the Blades have ever made.
Well done Mr McCabe, one swoop and in my eyes you have redemeed yourself for the woefull footballing appointments you have made in the past.

Wow fancy you being that humble, she must'v opened:eek:

Agreed.

If i was on the payroll at Bramall Lane i would be watching my back nervously.

You agree that BBs Gert is like a Dixon Lane slapper?

Is that where the ladies of easy virtue hang out these days? When I was a lad it was round the university end of West Street and the Broomhall Area generally (which is where Peter Sutcliffe was nicked). There was a regular lady who stood outside an electrical goods shop on West Street asking everyone who went past if they wanted "business".

No, I didn't take her up on it....

Maybe she was simply selling flex leads or extended warranties and you just misunderstood her.

Sounds like a touch of nostalgia to me. as for the 'No, I didn't take her up on it' bit, I've just checked what it said below your avatar and what with Bobs flex suggestion - I don't believe you.

Well this was about 11pm, the shop was in darkness and she wasn't dressed like any sales assistant I had ever seen....

Sound points except that I don't need to pay for it :-)

Did Peter Sutcliffe get nicked on that little lane which runs along the top side of the Girls High School land - opposite King Edwards - where Glossop Road meets with the road up to Broomhill?

If she was selling extended warranties dressed like that would you of bought one?
Nothing says "ensure your have the proper coverage" like crotchless panties on a cold winter night.

Yep. I was told this by an ex copper who was on duty when they brought him.

all the night ladies hang around our gaff in Netherthorpe these days, it's swarming with em.

Added to that I work just off Dixon lane and I get a good view of Sheffield's seedier areas all in one day :)

This is like a cross between Confessions of a Driving Instructor and How We Used to Live.

I posted this on another thread but, in case you check here first BB, why are you so convinced that Trevor Birch is the saviour?

Big isn't always good. (no sniggering at the back)

We could just be in big big trouble.

We could be ..... but i don't think so.
McCabe's a shrewd owd bugger he has the power and the £££££'s to prevent the Blades from being in trouble. For all i have slated him in the past i firmly believe he has the interest of the Blades at heart.
Nope i just think sumat BIG is on the cards. Lets see what happens in December/January.

Yes he did. I was at school there [when it was a grammar school, of course]. He was nicked just where you say. Broomhill, not Broomhall.

It was in Melbourne Avenue which is here:
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&tab=wl&q=melbourne avenue sheffield

He was nicked the day before United lost 4-0 at Newport in one of the low points in the club's history - Flashing Blade once had an article saying that at 5pm on that day, United fans were wishing it was Happy Harry who had been arrested....

I had the misfortune to be at Newport that day. Didn't Aldridge get 3 or was that a different thrashing? Wasn't there a 6-1? If so I was at that one as well!

Happy Harry is right down there amongst the worst managers we've ever had but he did, to his credit, bring in Sabella and later Bob Hatton.

Well if it's put you in a positive frame of mind then thats good enough for me :-)
