Pink Sambuca drinking World Champion.
After the match we walked our usual way back to the car - from the Kop exit and round the corner to Cherry Street. Opposite the car park entrance there is a small area that cars park in, next to the entrance to the swanky flats on the old Laver's property.
Stood there were a bunch of kids in their kits, wearing the red and black quarters of the kids who were on the pitch at half time. Amongst this number there were a few girls who thought that it would be a great chuckle to sing Wednesday songs to delight the Blades on their way home. Given that every club has it's following of knuckle draggers who would see nothing wrong in chinning a 14/15 year old girl I alerted the steward at the car park exit that there were some kids singing Wednesday songs and stood a large chance of getting hit. The stewards response - "Yeah, we know."
Did anyone else see these rather silly girls? Was anything done about it? A copper telling them to shut up would have done the trick, but there were none near there.
Perhaps the kid's club could have it pointed out to them that if their players are going to be as silly as these girls were they should perhaps stay at home rather than going out to provoke a fight? There is of course no way that anyone could or should condone these stupid kids getting a slap or a punch, but if they didn't sing Wednesday songs outside Bramall Lane then they wouldn't be in danger of physical retribution from drunken and/or stupid Blades.
