Selles said in his presser that he wanted everything done transfers wise on the day before the deadline. Thursday and Friday was rumour central with multiple players being linked etc. Since 5pm yesterday, radio silence (Matos deal being suggested before game was played). Nothing today at all. With 27 hours left of the window, we are either done or something dramatic has happened. I doubt it's the former. I don't think anyone wants to join us in our current shit show state and Selles could be in trouble.

Thoughts? We need another RB, clarification on Mee/Redmond and a right winger. I'd personally also want another CDM

Big if true

Thing is we could get another manager in with a different formation where we wouldn't need more wingers or CDM's or even more centre backs.

Give it to Phil Redmond till the end of the season.

We need to be more grittier, and there was nothing more grittier than early Brookside and Grange Hill.

Which asks the question, who's making the signings, the board or selles.

I don't get why we would keep him on if we sack him after the international break? Rather get someone new in now for the two weeks

I have been thinking the same myself this afternoon. The rumour mill of incomings has dried up a tad today, probably nothing in it though.

We either get rid of him now and give the new guy as much time as possible before the Ipswich game or we give him at least until after the Oxford game, if not ten matches into the season

Matos will be announced tomorrow.
A winger will arrive on time loan.
Selles sacked on Tuesday.
New manager in place Thursday.
And Mee/Robinson, something must be happening there considering leaving Jack at home yesterday and Mee not being linked elsewhere yet?

We have had a few players do this , this season...think it's to keep them around the squad if there not named in team line up

Regarding the signings I suggest you consider the recruitment team along with Del Monte Bettis, now unfortunately on the board. Recruitment team do have some football experience Del Monte has jack shit experience.

Thing is, it shouldn’t matter who we bring in as a new manager.

This squad is set up to play 4-2-3-1 or 3-4-2-1 IMHO.

Right now GK sorted, LB/LWB sorted, CB with Tanganga, Godfrey, Zatterstrom, hopefully Mee (if not, then Robinson), Bindon and arguably Sasnauskas as 6th choice sorted, RWB kind of sorted with Godfrey and Seriki and others can play there.

Centre forward sorted now Ings is here. Attacking mid and wings sorted with O’Hare, Hamer, Chong, Brooks, Barry, Ukaki.

Matos should complete the set. One of him or Soumaré next to a Peck or Arblaster.

You’re well sorted for all those positions then worh players like Shackleton, Davies, Oné and Marsh to pas out the squad when some available and if others step up.

It’s then a question of if a player goes, can we use that one loan spot to replace him.

anyone else announced a signing today, sunday?

He was with squad yesterday warming up on his own ...he wasn't left at home
"His omission from the squad that travelled to the Riverside Stadium"
"Asked to elaborate further on why Robinson didn’t make the journey up the A1 to Boro"
"So I didn't see the moment to bring him and I communicated with him in the proper way"
“I understand that from the outside it can look like a strange decision. But I don't want to put it only on one player, because there's players like [Ehije[ Ukaki who has been in and out of the squads for us and travelled with us"

This is what was stated within the press post game, I didn't go up yesterday due to illness, but it would suggest from the above that he didn't travel??

We've got CF's- Campbell, Cannon and Ings none of whom are really very good in the air and as such all prefer to play "off the shoulder" of a target man.
We did have one but he was, putting it kindly, negligently flogged to a rival.
It seems that with Seles we're welded to 4-3-3 so he had to go?
To add insult to injury he's doing rather well - and under allegedly the biggest oldest dinosaur in Parkinson.
That's a long way of saying that our greatest need at the moment is for a big bruiser up front, yet we seem to be collecting maybe/hopefully/should be good enough midfielders like a kid collecting cigarette cards.

Matos will be announced tomorrow.
I don’t think Mee is signing.
Then it’s all eyes on whether Gus leaves or not.
