Side for Swansea

Hopefully we won't need him, but it'd be a perfect game for Madine to come on.

He seems to turn it up a notch when a crowd is on his back. As a Cardiff player he'd be in for a tasty reception.

Most Premier League teams have two teams of Premier League players
One for dispatching Barnet and MK Dons out of the Cup and another to get points in the Premier League

We saw what happened when we play our second string last week

Swansea are a good side, underperforming at the moment, but if we take liberties they will murder us on their day
I'm not sure any team in this league are capable of "murdering us", unless we considerably dropped our standards.

Surprised they're not doing better. Their attacking threat against us first game was impressive. They had pace everywhere.

Wilder will make no changes unless we have an injury or illness. The team picks itself at the moment and long may it continue.

They were fresh out of the PL back then. Now they - like Stoke - realise how tough the Championship is. With over half the season gone, they're a mid-table team - W: 10, D: 7 L: 10, 13 points behind us and McBurnie is easily their highest scorer. Plus there are rumours of a double swoop by Leeds United for wingers Jefferson Montero and Daniel James.

It won't be easy, no game at this level is, but I'll be pissed off if we lose this.

Same team for the next 19 for me.

It's the team that has got us into 2nd.

Doesn't mean we do not use options during the course of the game to change it and if players are unavailable then making a change is a given.

I'm more than happy with our Plan A. Having a varied Plan B is where we have lacked until now at least.

Unchanged, but Madine to debut from the bench.

We've won four in a row three times previously under Wilder in the Championship. We've lost the 5th game each time.

Pretty unanimous and rightly so. Wilder will let Swansea worry about us and that is the right way to manage.
Change during the game if as and when necessary.

But Tufty hasn’t a clue with substitutions. I read it on here. How will he know what and when is necessary? Hopefully some of our knowledgeable fans will be there to tell him. They can instruct the players how and when to cross the ball as well.

We ❤️ Noise and Nonsense.

This is one of those games.
If Swansea click on the day we could be in severe trouble

I don't want any of this going for a draw malarkey, if we get a draw it's a good result but if we set out to get a draw we won't get one

I don’t think Tufty has ever set out to get a draw. It’s not in his philosophy.

His subs are the weakest part of his managerial game.

That Montero lad absolutely ruined Basham at our place when he came off the bench. Hopefully we have a plan for dealing with him this time.

Pile your money on Basham to get booked and a Blades win!

I like what you did towards the end of your post. If you know what you did lol

I’d guess the plan is called ‘Baldock instead of Freeman’.

Lets hope we can improve on that sequence, I am more confident when we play away.

Same again as always. Dowell for Duffy (performance depending) and think we’ll see Madine in these next 2 away games. Possibly a bit too guilt edge on Saturday to bring him on. Or just too soon.

I don't reckon it's in Chris Wilder's DNA to play for a draw.

No way will we go for draw. This is winnable and, dare I say it, Villa is looking a favourable away match at the moment

Same team unless injuries force a change, from now till end of the season
I recall when Barnsley got promoted to the prem and used only 16 or 17 players all season. There is a reason for the cliché "never change a winning team".
We are 2nd in the league because we are good and the starting 11 all know each others roles inside out. We are a team greater than the sum of the parts. Let others worry about us and that includes teams like WBA and Leeds!.

We should fear nothing except fear itself !

Not so. He’s one of the best we’ve ever had at changing formations, tactics and personnel mid-game. Very difficult to achieve but he has a lively mind and thinks on his feet, admirably aided by One Knill.

“Awful at substitutions” is yet another fans’ fallacy along with ‘tactically inept’, ‘lost the dressing room’ and ‘hopeless at corners”

Shooooooooooooooooot.

My interpretation of the home game was one of admiration of the way Swansea set their team up. They played with a 4-3-3 formation with young, athletic front players. Their intention was to play in the spaces vacated by our right sided and left sided centre backs and behind the wing backs. This was particularly effective when they brought on an orthordox wide player in Montero. These wide players stayed up the pitch all game, nullifying our ability to move the centre backs forward without defensive conseqences. Although we could have got something from the game, it was the best example of a team beating us due to tactics this season. Possibly the only example. It's a feather in our cap, though, as a parachute payment club had to set their team up perfectly to beat us in a coin toss game.
