I don't know why anyone would want to pay those prices to watch us get beat. Each to their own.

I find those prices immoral and am not that excited about the game anyway.

It is all a matter of choice.

I reckon most of us could make an odd sacrifice, to get that extra £50 we need to go. The overall cost is less than going to Wembley and presumably is comparable to some League 1 away matches factoring in travel etc?

You know, if we ever find ourselves at the top table of football again get used to these tickets prices.

Looks like they should have charged a bit more for those Cat 1 tickets.

Quote from SUFC;

"Approximately 700 tickets were sold in the first 24 hours of sale including all the category 1 tickets therefore approx 7,800 tickets remain in the category 2 & 3 price brackets.

Get down that pawn shop lads, try cash converters, and if all else fails there is always quick quid.

All of the category 1 tickets have sold out, so the remaining prices are:

Category 2
Adults - £38.00
Seniors 65+ - £19.00
Young Adults 18-20 - £28.50
Young Adults 16-17 - £19.00
Under 16 - £10.00

Category 3
Adults - £37.00
Seniors 65+ - £18.50
Young Adults 18-20 - £27.75
Young Adults 16-17 - £18.50
Under 16 - £10.00

Those prices look reasonable to go and watch United at one of the best stadiums in the world against one of worlds biggest clubs, especially the concessions and "young adults".

Only some of our fans could turn a cup tie away at Old Trafford into a negative and start talking bollocks about boycott's!

All of us want us to be back in the Premier League, playing against the top clubs, and now we have a cup tie against one of them. So shut up moaning and just enjoy it. 38 quid is well worth it, and better than an away tie and someone like Preston.

Mrs Silent was the only purchaser at the time she got in the ticket office at 2.20 pm to get tickets for me and my son. Either she missed the queue this morning (or at lunch time) or that tickets are not selling as fast as expected?

Let's see if the man u fans don't want to pay the prices for playing a 3rd division team.

Stop bleedin mourning.

Someone else will pay it if you don't.

Man U season ticket holders are automatically charged for cup tickets direct from their bank account. It was explained to me by friend that they can be barred from attending the following league game or can't apply for European tickets if they don't comply with that rule. Can't imagine that would that go down well here. There's little chance of it happening soon but I have no desire for us to get in PL again.
PS. I shall be going no doubt

I am looking forward to the game, taking my two kids. If you don't want to go fair enough but why the big debate?

I understand what you're saying but why the fuck should we get used to these ticket prices HH? I'm not saying a boycott of this game is the answer but surely something has to be done for all the fans of football clubs? I'm going but it has pissed me off big time having to fork out what we are doing for one game of football, it's a game i would not be going to if i didn't have a son which says it all really.

If you dont want to go dont buy a ticket
If you do then by one
Its not really a boycott if you have to ask the forums permission is it ?

the said boycott idea is a cunning plan by people who have few or no loyalty points, who are hoping people will not buy tickets.then when they go on general sale BINGO they get a ticket .:p

It sure is. That's why I don't have to get used to anything. I won't be partaking. Football is just a form of TV based entertainment for me now with a very occasional trip to watch a game when it's convenient and realistically priced.

By pure choice and principle I consider myself priced out.

It's an important issue to football fans. Some feel the ticket prices are excessive and unnecessary given the other hugely lucrative revenue streams these clubs have.

Others amongst us agree with all of that but also couldn't give a shit anymore so opt out of the whole thing all together. Football doesn't give a shit about me so why should I give a shit about it.

I heard a supporter of one of the big clubs say "our club" the other day, like he's really a part of it. Football fans are punters, nothing else.

I know, like you I will be taking my son and we are excited about the prospect of going to Old Trafford. We are going to stay over so there are hotel costs as well. It is a £300 adventure.

I blame all this TV money. It has corrupted the game and I get very annoyed when the TV companies change the times of matches to suit. A good example is the Exeter Liverpool match on a Friday evening. No thought for those poor scouser's who now, if they can, have to take a day from work to get there. Mind you most of them are on the social anyway.

I am sure I read another thread where the Bayern Munich chairman said that they had less revenue than the likes of Norwich City? All because of TV money. The income from fans buying tickets is chicken feed and as a result we do not matter in the scheme of finances.

It is a sorry state of affairs.

I don't have any young children who haven't been to Old Trafford before so I only have to think about myself, it certainly is not a new ground to me I first went in the 70's when you ran a high risk of getting a good shoeing. It might be a good day out if you make a day of it and visit a couple of Manchester's museums but I can't justify paying around £40 for a ticket and then travel and beer and food money on top of that especially as Man U will more than likely field their under 21's or "B" team and still have enough to beat us. Sorry but I don't see it as anything special to get excited about I'll be watching from home. Good luck to anyone going and hope you can get on the last train home otherwise it is a drive over the Snake or Woodhead in the dark in mid winter lets hope there is no snow about feckin stupid kick off times for TV.

Agreed, if your under 16 then it's understandable to be excited, any adult getting excited about a big day out at Old Trafford needs to have a word with themselves.

I don't support Man U so why would going to Old Trafford be anymore exciting than watching United at Scunny? It's simply just another away game to me.

Yes Blades will really want to stand with their backs to the game, especially after shelling out fifty quid for the privilege. Bravo for that one.
