Long term sufferer - Ever optimist
Ay the weekend, I had a fantastic chat with my old Grandfather about this game.....
My great grandfather spent a long time fighting for the country, therefore wasn't around in my Grandads earlier years. However upon returning from war, he couldn't wait to get his only child down the Bramall Lane.
This was my grandads first ever game and he remembers it well....all these years later.
He spoke of his all time blades hero... Jimmy Hagan. This game obviously being the first time of seeing him in the flesh.....
He absolutely lit up as he spoke of Hagan dribbling the ball through every New brighton player on the pitch to score a goal.
I hoped I could find some archive media clips, football programmes....anything really! But I'm struggling.
Can anyone help?
