From BBC WEBSITE

  • Sheffield United are aiming to avoid beginning a season with three straight league defeats for what would be only the fourth time in their history.
  • They have lost 34 of their last 43 Premier League matches including both so far this season.
  • In their most recent top-flight campaign in 2020-21, they set a Premier League record for the longest winless run at the start of a season: 17 matches.
  • The Blades have gone 26 Premier League matches without a draw, dating back to a 1-1 result against Brighton in December 2020.
  • Oliver Norwood could play in his 73rd Premier League game for the Blades, which would move him above Carl Bradshaw as the club's record appearance maker in the division.
Head-to-head

  • Sheffield United are without a win in their last eight league games against Manchester City, dating back to a 1-0 home victory in January 2000 in the second tier.
  • The Blades' last win over City came in an FA Cup fourth-round tie in January 2008.
  • City are unbeaten in all 10 of their Premier League games against Sheffield United, and last lost a top-flight match against the Blades in February 1992.
  • They have conceded just once in those 10 games and their clean sheet ratio of 90% against the Blades is the highest one team has against another in Premier League history (minimum of five meetings).
  • Sheffield United can equal the top-flight record for successive games without scoring against a single opponent: that's nine, which was set by Everton against Liverpool in 1972 to 1976, and also by West Brom versus Liverpool from 2002 to 2010.

Hi Stegosaurus here,

Haaland will have a boner at the chance to take on Egan and Robinson. He's gonna tear them to shreds.

Expect that Hecky will opt for Tom Davies im midfield today, based solely on his experience in the top flight. He's face De Bruyne and co, therefore he knows more than most what they are all about.

Up top, whilst we welcome Archer....he dodn't sign in time and isn't eligible. Unless McBurnie is miraculously fit, I guess we will see the same front two as last week.....Another common sense switch may have been to play one up top and to try and completely bulk out midfield and stop City playing through it.... I don't think hecky has this in mind though, based on his interview and stating that we have to play on the front foot.

Will be rotate midfield up and bit and bring in Trusty's athleticism? I personally would. We need players with an energy level that matches Cities and I feel that he is the sort of player that can do this.

I think City are weaker this season without Gundogan, Mahrez and with De Bruyne out long-term.

Could McBurnie be in the squad today? Is he close? He'd be a bonus, especially when defending set pieces.

This game is a tough one, we can't spend billions like Man City as we all know that. If the Blades can give them a game make it awkward for them. with a packed Bramall Lane makes the atmosphere electric The opposition and their fans don't like that. Let's show Sky Sports how an underdog can beat the Giants, and shove the pundit s words back down their throats. If we go a goal down keep the electric atmosphere going. COME ON YOU RED AND WHITE WIZARDS UP THE BLADES.
