Ha talking about united videos on sunday in matchday chatroom, have got the blades v chester (Deano and Agana hatricks), blades v newcastle (guess who was playing at no 2....in both games...),Life with the Blades and 100 years 100 goals as well as the Beeb2 documentary "United" I recorded in 1990, cripes that long ago...only seems like a few years ago...

On another note I personally think we will do pretty well next season.

I will summarise as follows
early-mid-80's to 87/88 until Sir Harry took over united were lost in the wilderness, crowds dwindling, dross footy,no pride or passion.
Harry takes over ok he took us down at the end of the season when he took over, but then a couple of signings including as described by some at the time.."a long legged lanky striker who doesn't seem to be able to run straight...", the rest is history.
He gets us promoted back to the old div2....pride, passion, grit and determination are back, the club and fans are United again the sense of momentum is with us...people were saying the same thing hen as now...oh we might finish mid to lower table or might scrape a playoff place...no not under DB, the momentum carried on and the rest again is history climaxing in that day out at Leicester...

To now
last couple of seasons esp under NA, dross footy no pride no passion (NC 1st season aside), club in a bit of disarray now that No 2 (see above ) takes over we have pride, passion belief confidence and once again a wining mentality back who says we can't do good next season and perhaps surprise ourselves, it's all about belief and confidence and we have that in abundance now. CW has set a steamroller in motion and yes I do realise that we will need perhaps a couple or 3 players in.
Have faith and believe..thankyou CW we have our club back.

On the topic of old blades vhs tapes. Just had a huge house clearance and found around 10+ of blades games from late 90’s and early 00’s. Free to anyone that is looking to add to a collection or better still wants to convert to YouTube for the blades family.

They are the sole reason why I still have my VCR (from the days when Sony made their stuff to last for ever) together with a back-up Sony VCR rescued from my parents (to insure against the unlikely event of the first VCR packing up)...

Can I applaud your excellent example of man cave male hoarding syndrome. Rarely seen outside of serious vinyl junkies. Securing not one but two VCRs solely for watching United deserves high level praise.

I’d welcome tips on how I could manage to convince my missus as currently we are in negotiations about securing a turntable for the living room. Her opening line was you’ve got all those Dansettes gathering dust, that Technics thing in the dining room and that expensive one in the spare room that’s now full of records. And don’t get me started on why a grown man still has all his copies of 2000 AD, a tea chest full of Subutteo stuff and cupboards full of shoe boxes full of United stuff, including his Junior Blades 81 scarf, unused blazer badge and welcome letter.. and as for trying to own everything ever made by Wards Brewery... (it does go on)... why you’ve brought them all down from your mothers loft is beyond me... look at all those nice minimalist houses on telly... and don’t you dare bring my shoes and handbags into this discussion like last time... etc
