Hi guys, I'm at the University of Sheffield doing journalism and I'm currently working on a piece on Sheffield Utd and the incredible form in the Premier League so far this season - I was wondering if anyone would be happy to talk to me about their time supporting the club - The highs and the lows, and the brilliant start to the season. If so please do get in touch, thanks a lot!

I should be on here a fair amount, but if you need to get in touch more urgently my email is [email protected]

If you don't get any response just try sending to Pork Talk and re-phrase it "How Sheffield United are so far up the Premier League but have only won four games". Should be good for a couple of hundred replies within an hour.

Hello George,

Welcome mate.....yes, you are spot on, ever since Chris Wilder and Alan Knill were appointed as our management team we've had almost seamless success.

What this means is that where there once was a low expectation, the bar has been raised and quite rightly we have a very different set of expectations to anything I've known, and I've been supporting the Blades for approximately 50 years. We're most definitely a team as opposed to a collection of talented individuals, which is not to belittle the contributions of many of our talented bunch of players. John Fleck has recently shown the type of form that many of our fellow Prem sides would give their right foot for. Same applies with Egan, a rock and then some, Stevens, a quality wingback, and of course the almost impossible to handle, Lys Mousset, a revelation at a paltry £10 million, and is rapidly making a huge difference to the way we play.

I doubt anyone is getting above themselves, but there's a clear feeling that under Wilder we always have a chance of gaining something from a game.
I haven't experienced such a concerted period of enjoyment since I first began supporting Sheffield United. There have been great moments before of course, but given the squad we currently have, the way Wilder and Knill get 'ok' players to turn into good, even great players, it's no longer a surprise that we're doing so fantastically well.

On last night's Match Of The Day, Jermaine Jenas described the Blades as the Premier Division side he likes to watch most of all, and all because we play a brand of football that he says is as good as any other Prem team. Comments like that are as rare as hen's teeth, so it shows just how far we've travelled in the space of just over 3 seasons.

I could write at length about SUFC, but we're no longer a best kept secret, we are now recognised as an excellent footballing side that has been built on minimum resources but with an immense level of nous and know-how. Hope that helps mate.

What’s word count like. You can quote me if you want “we was wank, then we was rate good” you can fill the rest in

Hi George,

Fellow student (albeit part time with the OU around full time work - bad idea, wouldn't recommend...;))

I'd be more than happy to help but should say upfront I'm a non-Sheffielder who has never lived anywhere near the city and has only been a regular in 4 seasons during the Warnock years. So depending on what you're looking for I may not make the best interviewee.

My expert opioion costs forty pound per hour and I have four days of info (negotiable)

That would be brilliant, I've dropped you a message :)
