Warnock is a hero and deserves credit for what he did however he wasn’t as popular as most outsiders think.

I’d say Bassett was more popular and Wilder is starting to overtake Bassett.

In fact Wilder could end up with a stature of himself n the South stand car park because what he’s done in the circumstances eclipses both Warnock and Wilder. Under Bassett and Warnock we battled giving 100% but Wilders team plays with class and quality, which makes no sense as most are lower division players.

If we lose 5 on the spin, people will be slagging CW to high heaven.

If / when he leaves, the perpetually embittered will denigrate his achievements.

Such is life.

We lost one game away at QPR,and the knives were out for him,Bassett above Warnock for me

It's closer than the Wednesday one.
I suppose if this list took two years to put together then ours could be right too.

Taking Wilder and last year's side out of the occasion then its hard to look past Warnock. However, he divides opinion like nobody else in the club's history so hero probably seems a stretch.

I'd say Chris Morgan is the only other real contender.

In 30yrs i'd say Bassett, Deano, Warnock, McCabe (lets not forget the Brealey, Hashimi, Woolhouse, Hinchcliffe, McDonald, Charles Green & Columbotti saga prior to McCabe stabilizing the club), Chris Wilder is easing himself into this group quite nicely, back to back promotions to the PL this season and CW & Billy Sharp would make the top 3.

Really??! Didn't see anything of the sort, myself. Surely it was just a single simpleton / WUM?

There was a question or two raised about his team selection regarding QPR.
Apparently this offended Fred immensely and was very, very strange.
It can only be a page or two back so check it out. I'm sure Rev could point you in the right direction!

Massive respect to McCabe too. He has his knockers but would never plaster his name in the seats of the stand or charge us the most expensive seats or replica shirts in the division.

Many lesser men would've cut their losses years ago and dumped us like a bad girlfriend.
He has re-stabalised the club again without bankrupting us/himself in the process.

It's a Blades, and football fan in general, phenomenon mate.

Anything more than a couple of dozen criticising or booing, and down the line people will swear it was thousands.

I only have to listen to some people's comments about George Long. A very small percentage of dickheads on the Kop booing has now become a significant part of the fanbase destroying his confidence and forcing him out.
