I've just been sorting out travel up from London for next month's derby, and it's been a complete disaster. Essentially no trains to Sheffield that arrive in time for kick-off. Is there a reason why we have been given a noon kick-off, whereas for the return fixture it's a far more reasonable 1pm? No doubt as it's a Sunday this has buggered up plans to attend for quite a few people.

Wasn't Copenhagen looking to fill his car from London?

Sure you've looked, but definitely no trains from Donny if you go from KC Sunday morning?

Was just on raileasy so had a quick look :) There's one that leaves Kings Cross @ 9.30, gets to Sheff for 11.53 via Donny. Pushing it but at least you'll just about be there for KO touch wood.

Get a grip. True Blades will find a way. Some of us went to Luton on a Boxing Day? when there was no public transport and away fans were banned.

Actually agree it's a crazy KO time. The extra hour does make a lot of difference for fans and convenience though I suspect that was pretty low down on the list of priorities for SYP.

I can understand an earlier KO but would a 1pm KO really result in loads more trouble than a noon?

Walk out of house. Get into car. Drive to Sheffield. Park car. Watch match. Get into car. Drive home.

Piece of piss. No need for thanks. ;)

Hey Loughboro. I am indeed in the same boat but probably hiring a car for my weekend over and driving up from London Sunday morning and back again after the game. Do you want to join and split the petrol? Will it be just you or any others coming? Where in London will you be setting off from?

why not travel up the night before? But if not, hook up with Copnhagen below.

(Another option is to take the Kings Cross to Donny. Arrives at 10:50. Book local cab to pick you up from Donny and get him to put his foot down to the ground. You would be there on time, though maybe not have time for a beer etc)

There you go CB. Did you see my last message about the London Blades facebook group? You might find a few more people on there.

I booked coaches today with megabus from Victoria. 3 quid each way one on the saturday one on the monday...aint doing megabus drunk!! Luckily i can stay with family but at those prices a hotel and a 3 quid coach wouldn't be much more than the train would it?

Yeah cheers Olle I read and forgot to answer. I will see what Lough says and then get on the LB FB page. Cheers

Hey CB I will be there, see you for a drink before the game if there is time. Where are you going in the ground?

Cheers for the offer - I need to work out whether what I've already (foolishly) booked is cancellable. Will check tomorrow morning and send you a message.

Hej dkc. I would hopefully be up there early enough for a beer before the game. I am sitting in the Kop.

OK no problem and no rush

It's probably gonna be on SKY anyway. They're not showing any live games that weekend so I'm pretty sure they're gonna fill up the schedule with some dross
