Do we need a CM now if getting BBD and Cannon? Surely that means Hamer moving to CM...?

I still say yes, moving Hamer to CM would be a good option but we do need some cover for Souza.

I would like another ideally - Souza is injured, Davies might well be if the rumours are correct (and likely will be sooner rather than later regardless) and Peck is being played more than we would like, too. Don't get me wrong I really rate Peck but he's being run into the ground a little. I also think Charles or Doyle might be more suitable to what we need that Hamer moving in there.
 
Saints fan/work colleague messaged me after I asked about him saying that the word down there is that the new manager wants to have a look at him before any decision on his future for rest of season is made. View amongst many Saints fans apparently is that they should be bringing him back to include in their matchday squad as they are impressed by how he has developed this season. So he may or may not be available at the end of the month - on loan. We may have moved to other targets before then.

That sounds most likely. If I were them I'd be looking to start him in a few games to get ready for next season with him and probably Smallbone as starters

This really doesn't make sense though, if he plays for Soton and then the manager decides hes not good enough, he can't be loaned out as he will have played for 2 clubs already.

Unless they send him back to Wednesday.
 
Yes you are right - but I guess given how bad the Saints have been this season he may want to look at him in training for a couple of weeks to decide whether he feels he can use him as a better option to what he has got in the 2nd half of the season. Remember - the Saints manager is new so will never have seen Charles face to face yet.

If true when Wilder says all his first choice targets want to sign then Shea Charles isn’t one of them imo. Wilders first choice targets will have been identified and initial talks taken place possibly weeks ago

Charles only became potentially available two days ago so just don’t see it.

It does seem more like we heard he was being recalled and just enquired. It doesn't mean he's high on our list or that we made a formal approach. Notifying the local media about our "interest" though is definitely someting I could imagine wilder doing.

If I was to guess Southampton will make a decision on whether they think he can make an impact for them, if not then probably back to the pigs for the rest of the season.

Their fans detest Smallbone, and they want Charles to replace him.
